Many people in the world are looking for a way to be healthier. A lot of us do not get the right nutrition, vitamins, and so forth to be healthy. There are many different types that you can choose from, and they may even help you to lose weight if you need to. All you have to do is find the one that better suits you and your needs, because they all detoxify your body by different methods. There are also different recipes that you can use to help you with the detox diet that you choose.

Using A One Day Detox Diet

The one day detox diet is really just a day that you fast and drink nothing except fluids. It is recommended that you prepare for this day a full week ahead of time by eating a plant-based diet, which is what will help you to decrease the amount of toxins that you consume. Then when the seven days are up you will begin this fast track detox diet by drinking one cup of fluids every hour from the time that you wake up. On every other hour you will need to drink eight fluid ounces of water. This is a very effective detoxification diet that you can use if you are looking for a fast fix to a healthier body.

The 21 Day Detox Diet

This is a great diet to use if you do not mind doing it for a few weeks. There are also four different levels of detoxification depending on your cleansing needs and any health problems that you have. This 21 day detox diet is broken up into three stages, one for each week that you will be on the diet.

  • Week 1 – Stage 1: The Plant-Based Diet.  This first week will focus on eating foods that are plant-based in order to get rid of some of the toxins that you take in when you eat. This means that you will need to move away from consuming meat and processed foods, like in a raw food detox diet. This will help to decrease your exposure to toxins by almost fifty percent.
  • Week 2 – Stage 2: The Live-Food Diet.  This part of the diet will help you to decrease the stress on your digestive system by having you eat uncooked foods (plant-based) and blended meals. These supplements also prepare your body for the deep healing process.
  • Week 3 – Stage 3: The Liquid Diet.  This is when your digestive organs will have a chance to rest so that the healing process will begin on a cellular level, because your body will not have to process the regular food (even the blended foods) that you have been eating.

This detoxification program will give you a thorough cleanse, however, most of the time you will need more than just one of these. This three week detox diet is also used to help teach you the basics on how to become your own doctor.

Detox Diet Recipes

Many of the detox diets that you find will want you eat certain foods to help with the cleansing process. This is really the healthiest way to go about the detoxification process, so you may want to make a detox diet menu to help you with making the best choices for your meals. For this reason, there are many different detox diet recipes that you can find on the Internet and in many books that you could just get at the library or your local book shop. To help you out with finding some of these, here are a few recipes you may want to try to find.

  • Gazpacho Soup – This is a recipe that originated in Spain and is served cold. There are a few different vegetables in it that include: tomatoes, garlic, bell peppers, and cucumbers. It also includes bread that is moistened with vinegar, olive oil, and ice water. Because this is made up of mainly vegetables, it is a highly recommended recipe to add to your list.
  • Detoxifying Drinks – These are drinks that are made with fruits that are used in a liquid detox diet. You can also combine them with different vegetables. This is a great way to detoxify and clean out your body. Some people may recommend that you use this method along with a plant-based diet for the healthiest results.
  • Alkalizing Raw Soup – All that you need for this recipe is one avocado, garlic, some cucumber, some spring onions, a red or green pepper, a few handfuls of spinach, and a other various vegetables that are nutritious. It is a great soup that should be included on any menu for a detox diet.
There are many other detox diets, and recipes for them, that you can find in books and on the Internet. Finding the one that better suits you is very important, especially if you are suffer from any health issues. Before you decide to go on a detoxification diet, you may want to talk to your doctor to find out if doing this kind diet would be a good thing for you to do.

Eating healthy every day is the best way to stay healthy. If you feel like you are not doing that now, then a detox diet will at least get you started in the right direction of taking care of your body better. Doing something like this may even change your life!

  1. I detoxed for 9 days to start my new diet 5 months ago. I ate no meat, no sugar, no bread for the first 9 days. All I ate was brown rice, veggies, fruits, lentils, egg whites and chick peas. I lost 7 lbs within that 9 days. I had no problem with energy at all. After the 9 days I started to eat little meat. I did this while doing the P90X program. I believe the detox really help me jump start my weight loss and it build momentum. I highly recommend everyone to detox for at least 5 days before starting a weight loss program. To this day I have lost 25 lbs.
