The Ultimate New York Diet Review

Introduction

The Holy Grail of fitness these days is finding a way to combine a healthy and active lifestyle with a busy one.  Life moves so fast these days, especially in the larger urban centres of the world such as New York, that people legitimately have the excuse that they don’t have the time to exercise as much as they’d like.  David Kirsch wrote his first book called The Ultimate New York Body Plan in order to help combat some of this pessimism and The Ultimate New York Diet book is essentially a sequel to the first one that helps you put everything into perspective.

A practical approach to weight loss

If there is one thing that can really sum this book up, it would be the idea of practicality and weight loss combined in the modern world.  You’ll learn a bunch of practical tips for living in fast-paced societies, putting aside time for working out and even how to follow your diet and still go to restaurants.  Those restaurant tips in particular are worth their weight in gold as it is going out that really ruins good diet chances for most people.

At the same time, you’ll learn how to deal with deviations from the plan in a way that allows you to get back to the plan, once again something that is very important to know.  The main strength of this book is in its practical approach to weight loss and if you find sometimes that dietary coaches don’t really get that you live in a variable world with a fast-paced life, this might just be the book for you.

Learning the proper way to diet

Continuing along the path of practicality, David Kirsch argues that you should be more restrictive at the start of your diet and less restrictive later on rather than the reverse position which is argued by many that say that you should slowly ease into a highly restrictive diet.  The point that Kirsch makes here is that if you start out restrictive and then slowly ease up while at the same time cutting really bad foods entirely out of your diet, you will have a better chance of keeping up with your fitness plans in a city like New York where a new temptation exists with every step you take.

Final Thoughts

The main thing to take from this book is that if you read it, you’ll really have no excuse left not to exercise and diet properly.  In fact, the “no excuse” slogan is one used by Kirsch in a lot of the promotions that he does for this book, so he definitely realizes the everyday practical use that people can get out of this book today and also years and decades into the future.

Although the book cover claim that you can lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks is definitely a little farfetched, you can definitely use the advice given in this book to help you achieve some impressive weight loss goals in the short, middle and long term.
