Introduction
The Mommy Diet is an interesting new book written by Alison Sweeney based on her own weight loss personal experiences. Fans of soap operas will likely recognize her from her long role on Days of Our Lives, but few people know that she is a mother of two children from the hot look that she still maintains. In the book, readers will learn exactly how she was able to make that happen. Continue reading our reviews of The Mommy Diet to learn more.

A blueprint for success based on Personal Experience
If there is one thing that really sets this book apart from many of the other fitness books that have been written for new mothers that would like to lose their pregnancy weight, it would have to be the fact that this book is based on experience. Too many books these days are written by people professing to be experts without any real expertise on their areas of writing. Sweeney has been through it twice successfully and it is her expertise born of experience that more than anything else will drag you through the challenges to your final success. You know that it can work and that is a powerful motivator to help you keep it going.
Diet and exercise for the common sense mother
Most new mothers have a few priorities higher on their list than getting back in shape. Taking care of their new baby might be a good example of something along those lines. The Mommy Diet is a no-nonsense approach to getting that fitness level back after pregnancy and it is done in a way that will not take away from a mother’s ability to care for her children.
There are ways for you to create a healthier diet quickly by correcting a few common mistakes made in kitchen cooking and also by being smart with the time that you have. Efficiency is an important point throughout the book, even in terms of exercising and once you learn to be as efficient as Alison has been, you’ll have no problems regaining that gorgeous look that she has after the pregnancy period has passed.
Putting it all together
In terms of the actual content of the book, starting with a trimester-by-trimester breakdown of the pregnancy and ending with the journey through weight loss, there is not that much new being offered. A lot of the information is available from other sources, but Sweeney is able to put it together masterfully in this book. Not only is her writing clear and easy to understand, but the details that she covers shows beyond the shadow of a doubt that this is coming from the mind of a woman that has been through this struggle before and come out on top.
Final thoughts
More so than just a simple dieting plan, The Mommy Diet is a common sense approach to pregnancy and postpartum fitness. It will show you how to limit the damage during pregnancy and how to get back to normal as quickly and easily as possible after.
