Sweet Potato Diet - Getting Ripped with Sweet Potatoes

Glee is one of the most popular shows on television, and Matthew Morrison is one of the show’s biggest stars. Because of that, the world took notice when Morrison talked about the Sweet Potato Diet.  According to Morrison, a diet of sweet potatoes helped him get a six pack.  Let’s take a moment to see how this works, and if this is a diet that will help you get the body you crave.

Sweet Potato Diet Overview

According to Morrison, sweet potatoes are similar to sponges. When someone eats a sweet potato, it shrinks the body, causing everything to look ripped and tight. It draws out the muscles and adds definition to people’s bodies.

Additionally, sweet potatoes are bulky, so they manage to make people feel full for hours.  This definitely helps with weight loss, since people won’t feel the urge to overeat when they fill up on sweet potatoes.

Sweet Potato Diet Options

If you are going to follow the Sweet Potato Diet, you will have two options. You can eat a diet that consists only of sweet potatoes, or you can add a few other foods into the mix. If you decide to try other foods, make sure they are low in calories and fat.

No matter which option you choose, it’s important that you don’t drink much water.  Water counters the sweet potato’s sponge-like effect.  If you drink a lot of water, you won’t get the ripped look you want.  That doesn’t mean you should allow yourself to get dehydrated, though. Stay hydrated and healthy while following the diet. Just don’t overdo it with the water.

Sweet Potato Weight Loss

While the Sweet Potato Diet can help people get a six pack, it’s not a good option for those who need to lose lots of weight.  However, people who need to lose weight will benefit from adding sweet potatoes to their diets, since this is a low calorie food with lots of health benefits.  A four ounce sweet potato is only 98 calories.  Additionally, it has less than a gram of total fat, no cholesterol and a low amount of sodium and carbohydrates.  This, along with the health benefits, makes the sweet potato an excellent choice for dieters.

Sweet Potato Health Benefits

Sweet Potatoes are among the healthiest food options. They can:

  • Stabilize blood sugar levels
  • Raise levels of vitamin A
  • Clear up your skin and make you look younger
  • Load you up with lots of vitamins and nutrients

Overall, sweet potatoes help you become healthier.  Even if you don’t want to follow the Sweet Potato Diet, it’s still a good idea to include sweet potatoes in some of your meals.  After all you don’t want to miss out on all of these great benefits.

While the Sweet Potato Diet is not meant to be followed for a long time, it is a good option for people who want to show off their six pack abs. The diet can make muscles more defined, so you can finally get the body you always wanted.
