Sonoma Diet Review

We begin our Sonoma Diet Review with a brief history and description of the Weight Loss Plan. The Sonoma Diet was created by Connie Guttersen, a culinary professional and nutrition consultant to the Culinary Institute of America, and many of you will recognize it as the Western Mediterranean Diet. Certainly, the Weight Loss Plan itself offers lots of variety in food choices and preparation, incorporating the flavors of Asia, Latin America, and the Mediterranean for delicious meal ideas. The Sonoma Diet includes lots of fresh foods, herbs and spices, fine wine, and lean meats, rather than bland, boring packaged meals or dietary supplements.

Three Phases

Next in this Sonoma Diet Review, we’ll outline the Weight Loss Plan, so you will be better informed on how it works and on the three phases or “waves” of the Sonoma Diet. The first 10-day wave consists of the smallest number and portions of foods, with sugar intake greatly reduced. You’ll then progress to wave 2, the main part of the Weight Loss Plan, and continue with this until your target weight is reached. We like the addition of wine, if you choose, to the Weight Loss Plan, as wine is well known to reduce the risk of heart disease and leave you feeling more satisfied, while you actually are eating less. The last phase is the maintenance stage, the one you arrive at after reaching your weight loss goal. Again, we choose to emphasize the variety and flavor of the Sonoma Diet in this Sonoma Diet Review, feeling that it is one you will want to try and perhaps even stay with over the long term. Although an active, healthy lifestyle is encouraged, there is no specific exercise program in the Sonoma Weight Loss Plan, which leaves you free to plan your own.

We found several other features in our Sonoma Diet Review that add to the overall appeal of this Weight Loss Plan. We like the focus on portion control rather than calorie counting in the Sonoma Diet, which differs from various other diet plans on the market today. For example, breakfast is served on a 7” plate with 50% vegetables, 30% proteins or dairy, and 20% whole grains, and somewhat larger portions on 9” lunch and dinner plates.

Following their online program should be relatively easy, since you’ll receive the “Sonoma Diet” book, free with your membership of $5.00/week with a 5-week commitment. Included in your membership is a customized daily meal plan, weight tracker, eating, portion, and wine guides, and online and on-call support from registered dieticians. The extensive community support system, with message boards and weekly Q&A sessions, is always beneficial.

Finally...

In summary, we want to stress in this Sonoma Diet Review that here is a Weight Loss Plan that seems to “celebrate food,” rather than “deprive” you of excellent cuisine. We find in our Sonoma Diet Review that eating and enjoying the right foods, in the right amounts, will lead to successful weight management. Dieting is seldom fun, but the Sonoma Diet seems to be a tempting Weight Loss Plan, where you’ll really enjoy what you eat, as you look forward to the excellent results you’ll achieve.
