Remedilean fat burner reviewed. Will Remedilean work for you?
Last Updated ( Tuesday, 05 February 2008 )

Summary

Remedilean is the signature product of an American company called Remedic Health (www.remedichealth.com). According to their website, Remedic Health has spent years researching and developing a weight loss product to attack the problem suffered by millions of Americans. It is so that they introduced to the market this new product called Remedilean, intended to solve the problem by making the patient to consume less food and at the same time metabolizing more fat.

Main ingredients

By reviewing the list of the ingredients contained in the formula of Remedilean, it is possible to conclude that all of them are components already present in the market of fat burning products.

Advantra-Z:According to Nutratech Inc (www.nutratechinc.com), this proprietary ingredient is the only Citrus aurantium, bitter orange or citrus extract product protected under Canadian patents. The main properties of this product is to stimulate thermo genesis, reduce weight, increase lean muscle mass to total body mass, improve athletic performance and suppress appetite.

According to several websites advertising Advantra-Z as a component of their fat burn products, Advantra-Z is proven to outperform ephedra in their proven thermogenic and quenching appetite capabilities. According to PubMed, ephedrine has proven such capabilities over the years as a beta-3 antagonist. Read this excerpt for further information:

Despite this, in April 2003, the Food and Drugs Administration placed a ban on products containing ephedra, arguing concern of cardiovascular effects. For a complete article on this please visit:

Now, with respect to citrus aurantium, its safety and efficacy have been put to doubt by PubMed, due to lack of serious clinical studies. Extract from PubMed here:

Citrus Aurantium for weight loss.

Metabromine: Is a derivative of the cacao tree, from which seeds to produce all kind of chocolates are obtained. It is an alternative to ephedra, and it is said that metabromine have a mild stimulating effect on the body as well as a diuretic effect.

Caffeine: It has many effects on stimulating the central nervous system, which can make people more alert with a boost of energy. However, there is evidence that too much caffeine in a daily diet can make people restless, anxious and irritable. There is plenty of information on clinical trials regarding caffeine:

Caffeine on Clinicaltrials

Green Tea: This is an ingredient with several facts on clinical data to support its role as a weight loss compound, although it is also know to contain moderate amounts of caffeine, so people with little resistance to caffeine should take this into consideration.

Hoodia Gordonii: Is a cactus found in the Kalahari dessert of South Africa. It is said that the natives of some African tribes, used the plant to suppress their hunger when going on a hunting rampage for several days. Scientists of the England company Phytopharm, in association with Pfizer, started to work to isolate the molecule responsible for this appetite suppressing effects, calling it P57, although Pfizer withdrew from the partnership claiming that better results could be achieved by another organization. Phythopharm continued with the project. This is the main appetite quenching ingredient of Remedilean. More information about Hoodia can be found at Phytopharm website:

Glucommanan: It is basically a fiber supplement, which can lower blood sugar levels, increase satiety (feeling of fullness) and contribute to digestive health. Definitely, it’s an element which can improve good health. PubMed present some studies for this compound:

Experiences with three different fiber supplements in weight reduction.

Chromium: Plays an important part on the insulin function by helping it to regulate blood sugar levels. The idea of its role is to control the cravings for sweet and sugared food, commonly found in the typical American diet.

L-Carnitine: It is a compound synthesized from the amino acids methionine and lysine in the liver and kidneys. Its main role is to help consumption and disposal of fat in the body. Normally, it is sold as a nutritional supplement, and it is approved by the Food and Drugs Administration.

Conclusion

Remedilean is a product which contains several known ingredients in different quantities, its main ingredient, Hoodia Gordonii, seems to have enough information as an appetite suppresser, that even the giant Pfizer started its research in partnership with Phytopharm. Unfortunately, due to the closing of its Natureceuticals division, Pfizer pulled out from the project and left the former company freedom to license the product to another partner. Other products used in the formula of Remedilean count with several clinical studies as to make them reliable on their weight control claims, like L-Carnitine and Glucommanan. Nevertheless, other ingredients do not have enough evidence like double blind placebo studies to support their promises, like Advantra-Z. Despite the last statement, Advantra-Z has been researched by some companies and its properties seem to be justified. On the other hand, people with problems with caffeine should take care when deciding to evaluate Remedilean, but amounts of this ingredient are just present in small parts in the formula, so this should not be a problem. As an overall evaluation of Remedilean, it is more like a Hoodia Gordonii supplement, accompanied with other compounds to increase its effectiveness, rather than a revolutionary completely new product on the weight loss market.
