New Lifestyle Diet Review

Introduction

If you are an experienced dieter, you can be forgiven for rolling your eyes at a name like the new Lifestyle Diet.  After all, every diet plan that you take on is a new lifestyle in one sense or another and since every single diet ever created has the habit of promising the moon, the lucrative new lifestyle concept is not one that is specific to this diet.  In fact, none of the scientific ideas contained within this diet are original.  Like so many things however, it is not the content but rather the presentation that matters and the way the New Lifestyle Diet approaches the problem of weight loss has the potential to be helpful for a number of different people.

The Approach

The New Lifestyle Diet creators argue that the principles of losing weight have been known for a long time and that in fact it is not difficult to lose weight if that is your only goal.  In this argument, they are quite correct.  If you were to take on any set of activities with the goal of losing weight in the short term exclusive of all other concerns, you wouldn’t have a hard time.  The creators of this diet plan argue that the hard part is not only losing weight in a healthy way, but also ensuring that the weight stays off later once you transition from the diet to the maintenance part of the approach.  For this reason, their goal is to help you both with learning how to gradually lose weight in a healthy fashion while at the same time learning how to change your lifestyle so that you do not have to diet indefinitely in order to maintain a healthy weight level.

At the heart of the New Lifestyle Diet Review is a series of 12 different lessons containing the information that you need to learn in order to make this “…the last diet you’ll ever need.”  Included in those lessons is information regarding creating motivation, learning discipline, controlling cravings, choosing satiating food, controlling some of the sources of cravings like stress and depression, developing a winning routine and finally learning how to stick to that routine when times get difficult and you feel the crunch the most. While you are going through the portion control aspects of the diet, you will be going through these lessons simultaneously.  According to the people behind the New Lifestyle Diet, learning and applying information at the same time will give you the intellectual, emotional and mental edge that you need to lose the weight and keep it off with less effort than you might have otherwise thought possible.

Advtantages of the New Lifestyle Diet

There are a number of things to love about the New Lifestyle Diet, starting with the idea that they are attempting to create a full featured approach to dieting that will encompass your whole life.  They make no bones about the fact that they are attempting to get you to change something about each aspect of your life and because of that the benefits that you can potentially derive from this diet can go further than your fitness level.  Consider the routine and discipline lessons as an example.  These lessons can apply to your career and personal life as well and that in turn can reduce your stress level even further, making the cravings easier to cope with. This is a multi-pronged approach that very few other diet plans on the market are even willing to tackle, much less able to tackle well.

Another extremely good point about this diet plan that is worth mentioning is that there are tailor made plans for both men and women. This is something very positive that sets the New Lifestyle Diet apart from the majority of the plans out there.  The two genders have two different biological heritages and that means that men and women not only get different results from the same diet plan, but they also happen to get different results from the same exercises.  And of course, everyone knows that the lifestyles of men and women tend to be quite different on average.  By tailoring a packaged plan with a unique diet, unique exercise plan and unique life lesson package to each gender, the New Lifestyle Diet creators are acknowledging that they understand this fact and are willing to work within the confines that it puts forward.

One final positive point that is worth mentioning about the New Lifestyle Diet is that it is customizable to a large degree.  The portions are measured in terms of caloric intake and that means that regardless of your gender, you will be able to pick and choose foods to place into your diet based on what is available at the time as long as you stay within the general guidelines they have given.

Disadvantages of the New Lifestyle Diet

As previously mentioned, the New Lifestyle Diet does not come with very much that is new and cutting edge.  The portion control aspects of the diet are not new and neither are the exercises that are recommended in both of the plans.  The life lessons, while compiled and disseminated in a very convenient and easy to use fashion, are not particularly novel either.  The great strength of the New Lifestyle Diet, as mentioned in the introduction, is in the way in which these ideas are presented to the average weight loss customer and not necessarily with any of the actual concepts themselves.   This is not necessarily a bad thing, but since many people shop with the mindset of new ideas are better ideas, it is mentioned in the cons section.

Final Thoughts

The New Lifestyle Diet is a classic example of taking a proven idea that is difficult to implement and making it easier to implement. There is some debate as to whether the New Lifestyle Diet is easier than other portion control diets, but most experts would agree that the gradual and long term goals of this diet make it easier to swallow, no pun intended.
