Summer is always the time when you get to wear sexier clothes because of the hot sun. Since you wear clothes that are more revealing than usual, you don’t want to go out with excess fat in your body since it will look bad on you. So weeks before summer, you starve yourself almost to death so you would look good in a swimsuit and other beach clothing. But as soon as summer ends your body starts to go back to its other form since you let go of your dieting habits – only to do it again for the summer. At first you’ll notice that the swing in your weight and look is very easy. But every summer, the effort to get trimmed for the hot sun increases.
This swing in weight will eventually take its toll. Even though how hard you work for your summer get-up, you will only reduce a little and your weight gain is even faster once you let go of your summer discipline.
This should not be the case. Summer is not only the time to look fit; it is a great chance to shed off that extra weight permanently. The heat of the sun, the produce of the season and the opportunity is just too good to let it pass.
So this summer, achieve the weight you always wanted and let it stay forever.
Summer’s Produce – Tasty Yet HealthyOne great thing about summer is that you don’t need to stave just to get the weight that you want. The natural produce during the summer season presents a great opportunity to stay fit while feeling good about your body. Fruits and vegetables are plentiful during summer so you will always have something fresh for the day. From smoothies to vegetable salads, you can indulge yourself without worrying on stacking up in calories.
Here are the some of the summer’s bounty that are great for summer diet without the guilt of indulgence:
- Watermelon – lots of flavor but mostly only made up of water. Whenever you feel like drinking soda, this great alternative tastes even sweeter without the additional calorie.
- Berries – this high fibered fruit could give you the energy that you want to help you improve your daily exercise routine. Aside from the body energy, berries are also great for the mind as it also help in boosting your memory.
- Peppers – although not every one likes pepper, just half a cup of any variety will do wonders for your body. Imagine having 230% of daily requirement of Vitamin C. That means you can even lower the intake further and still gain enough Vitamin C for the day.
- Green, leafy vegetables – this is already a given but often an ignored fact. Vegetables will lead us to the body that we want and boost our health as well.
- Beans – you don’t even have to think of which one since the bean with the highest calorie count is the Borlotti beans – 160 calories for every 4-ounce.
Preparing your FoodAs much as possible, your summer diet menu of fruits should be taken raw. Fruits and vegetables often gives out it’s maximum vitamin output when they are taken fresh without any preparations except it was cut into smaller pieces. Another advantage in eating them raw is reduced preparation. You don’t even have to be a master chef or a cook to eat something raw.
But not all vegetables and fruits could be eaten raw by anyone. Beans can’t just be swallowed by anyone and pepper might not sound as sweet for most people.
A good preparation option for fruits and vegetables is by grilling them. Slowly cooking them in heat will enhance the taste and its smell. The body’s reaction to the sweet or even bitter smell of vegetables will do you good. Of course, eating them is even better. Your cook-out or simple picnics don’t have to be about meat or burgers anymore. Here are some of the vegetables that you can eat by grilling:
- onions
- bell peppers
- zucchini
- carrots
- eggplant
- asparagus
- garlic
Chilled soups are also an ideal preparation for as a healthy food. All you need to do is to chop chunks of vegetables and fruits that you prefer and combine them to make a soup. Of course you have to consider the taste of each fruit. But the main goal of chilled soup is actually to maximize vegetables and fruits without having too eat so much. Chilled soup is actually a great diet meal that could be prepared really easy.
Desserts usually should be avoided all the time if you wanted to lose weight but it has an exception – fruits. Desserts from fruits will never get you fat and it will even help you reduce weight. There are so many fruits that you can eat that don’t even require sugar to enjoy them. But if you do need sugar, there are low fat alternatives that you can always use.
But the ultimate preparation for fruits and vegetables is probably the salad. You can virtually get a bowl, chop your favorite fruits and vegetables and mix them with a low fat cheese. Some would even add meat and chicken and would not feel bad about it since there are plenty of fruits and vegetables that you can enjoy.
This summer, you don’t have to starve yourself to death just to get the body that you want. There are plenty of fruits and vegetables every summer so if you go with the demand and supply rule, you won’t even have to spend too much so that you could have your favorite fruit meal.
Preparation of fruit and vegetable based meals are also very easy. The recipes that were mentioned are so simple that anyone could do that anytime. Best of all, reducing fat doesn’t need to have dangerous side effects. Just combine your fruits and vegetables with regular exercise and you’ll have an amazing and healthy body.
