What is the 21-Day Detox?
How It Works
The Food
What Not To Eat
- Red meat
- All Fruit (with the exception of bananas), because the fruit that you buy in the store is picked before it has ripened, which means that it has not reach the desired state of alkalinity yet.
- Dairy produce; choose an alternative to cow's milk.
- Alcohol like beer, champagne, and wine, because these beverages are high in yeast and acid; after the detox, drinking small amounts of vodka and gin are fine.
- Potatoes
- Wheat, yeast, and gluten
- Nuts
- Tea and Coffee, including decaffeinated (with the exception of herbal teas)
- Jams and other spreads
- Artificial flavorings like vinegar, mustard, and ketchup
- Chocolate, sugar, and other sweets
- Pre-packaged and pre-prepared meals, which lack nutrients
What You Can Eat
- White meats like turkey and chicken
- Herbal teas, especially green tea
- Eggs, but not more than 3 or 4 per week
- Fish (with the exception of swordfish, shellfish, and tuna)
- Bananas, preferably organic
- Wild or brown rice that is made with carrots and chicken stock
- Live yogurt
- Ricotta, cottage, goat, and buffalo cheeses
- Dark green vegetables that are stir fried or steamed (with the exception of avocado)
- Wheat and gluten free breads and cereals
- Olive Oil
- Honey
- Chick peas, lentils, and pulses
- Salads without peppers and tomatoes
- Onions, ginger, and garlic
- Soy and rice milk
- Guacamole and hummus
- Tofu and soy products
More Food Tips
- Get the freshest vegetables and fruit that you can find, grown locally, and in season. There will likely be more minerals and vitamins in these than those that are shipped from out of the country.
- Start off your mornings with a cup of warm water and fresh lemon juice, which is good for your kidneys.
- Choose soy milk that has added vitamins A and D, as well as calcium.
- Sipping water that is room temperature while you eat will help the absorption and digestion of the food's nutrients, but only have a little.
- If you choose to have a snack in the afternoon, have some herbal tea with a wheat and gluten free biscuit.
