Any requests for subforums for weight loss? 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 3
If anyone is interested in sub-forums send me a PM. If it makes sense I will add it.

Fat loss may not be a bad idea.

Many people- especially women- have problems losing fat. Sometimes it's due to diet. Other times it may be due to a medical condition or something else.

Many (men and women) get discouraged when they begin working out and don't see that sudden drop on a scale. It may help them (and others) to have a place where they can discuss it so they will develop a better understanding of what is happening with their body. It may motivate them to keep going.

My $.02. You can keep the change.

Thanks, just to clafiy you are suggesting the sub-forum be named "Fat Loss" right?

If I do one, I'd like to do at least 2 more.. any suggestions?

I'm having connection problems.

To answer your question- I would go "Fat Loss." I hate the term "weight loss" and I hate the commercials. If people want to lose weight they can down loads of water, have an organ removed or sit around and let their muscles atrophy. "Weight loss " is just so misleading.

Most people want to lose "fat." And sadly, so many beginning P90X, ChaLean Extreme, etc quit after a couple of weeks because the numbers on a scale go up -yet, they ignore the inches they lose. They just have no clue as to what is happening with their body.

I just think it would be helpful in adjusting the mindset of people. I've been in the world of fitness for a bit over two years now and my mind still screws with me sometimes.

Know what I mean?

JMHO.

Other ideas?

Hmmmm.............

Maybe a "Myth Vs. Fact?"

Nutrition- can encompass diet, as well as help explain the various elements involved in proper nutrition- carbs, proteins, fat, sugar, label reading, calories, etc.

I'm just throwing stuff out. Toss it or keep it.

Is the fifth time the charm? Here's hoping this post goes through.

I have added the fat loss forum area. If I see another major topical area will open another forum area then. Thanks! Now to see people use it!

Nutrition or Diet Recipes perhaps since these two are related to weight loss. Cheers!

How about a Military, law enforcement, and firefighters forum?

We have different workout and nutritional needs from civilians since most of us have mandatory worlouts and training that civilians may not understand or relate to. It would be nice to have a common sub-forum to talk to fellow servicmembers.

This seems like a bit of a narrow focus doesn't it? Do we have enough users who would want this you think?

Glenn,

I agree with you. It seems like a good idea at the start, but I'm concerned that the focus is so narrow that it will limit participation.

Also, the idea of a "forum" is for all of us to bring our unique knowledge base to a central area to share information. This move may defeat a part of the purpose of having a forum. It might also cause some hard feelings among others in the group, which can be bad.
