TOPIC: Starting my SI6, Heading for P90X

Here we are 10/13/2008, Day 1, of my 6 week program. I started with the Limber and Stretching program which is recommended for your day 7 routine as a way to help your body recover. It was nice to stretch out for 15 minutes before starting the actual program and allowed me to see how un-stretchy I actually was
After stretching, I went straight to the "Start it up" segment and was able to keep up through the end and really felt it in the ab crunches. It was definitely a low/moderate intensity workout, but perfect for not having done any program for four years. I am a Male, 42, 6'01", 238 lbs and I'm looking to lose 25-30 lbs before I start the P90X program and get back to running again. As a measure, I want to be where I was 4 years ago. I was running 6 miles, in an hour and weighed 30 lbs less then I do now. I have lost 25 lbs since January of 2008, also. I want to help out and answer questions you might have if you're thinking of starting this progam or have questions about what you can expect. I'll update and let you know how it's going and good luck to you too! |

I am on phase 3 of p90x, plan to do p90x plus next; but I am thinking of slim in 6. Any advice? Is p90x plus similar to slim in 6?

Thanks, I ordered Slim in 6 to use for six weeks prior to P90x Plus. My wife and daughter are interested in this program. When we finish I will let you know how it went. thanks again.

Yesterday I had surgery at the doctor's clinic and rested much of the day after a 24 hour fast earlier. Today I felt better, but not enough to continue with P90X day 72. I did Slim N 6 warm up, 6 of the core workouts (including Ashtanga Vinyasas), and the cool down. I felt much better afterwards. My strength was not what it was prior to minor surgery, and I may repeat tomorrow the Slim N 6 preparation routine which lasted about 30 minutes. The package is due Monday. Tomorrow I will see if the wife will work out with me doing Slim N 6 prepatory workout.
Hopefully the body will recover and I can finish P90x or repeat it. |
