Well I suppose I might as well post an intro/start a diary thread here...
So let's see... I'm 36 years old, 5'8" and *gasp* presently sitting at about 217 lbs. I began my journey on January 6th, when I tipped (or crushed) my scale at 240. After about the last 4 years of sitting in the mid 220's, following my wedding in September and then the holidays, I found my weight creeping and creeping and creeping... I knew I had to do something, but when I hit 240 (or actually 239.6), I freaked out.
Through January and February, I dropped the first 20 lbs, through a combination of eating better (it's not a diet, just a lot of healthy changes) and exercise. My husband and I started mountain biking again, walking/jogging, and playing tennis.
However, 3 months in, I found the weightloss had stagnated, and I needed to step it up. So on March 30th, I started my first cycle of SI6 (I do this in the mornings, and we still bike/jog/play tennis in the evenings).
The first couple weeks of 5:00 a.m. workouts were tough, but I'm getting better at it - it's almost a habit now. I'd like to get below 200 lbs and complete 2 full cycles of SI6 by July 4th, then after that, I intend to move it up to P90X. My longterm weight loss goal is to get to 160, though I have a feeling once I reach that, I may set another goal for about 145-150 (however at that point, health and muscle mass will be more important than just the number on the scale).
In the 2.5 weeks I've been doing the SI6, I've already seen a great increase in my stamina, and I've "found" muscles in my obliques (who knew!), and I'm seeing some definition develop in my biceps and calves (Whoo hooo!)...
So that's me and my goals in a nutshell!
