Hey everyone. I am seriously considering P90X2 and one of my first questions was what does the schedule look like and how long are the workouts? I read that yoga was shorter, so that's good.

I got in touch with Beachbody and they told me the full schedule has not been released yet. I'd like to see how x2 ab ripper fell into the schedule. Plus they aren't incorporating PAP until the third phase. See below:

Phase 1 – Foundation, 3-5 weeks
Phase 2 – Strength, 3-6 weeks
Phase 3 – Performance, 3-4 weeks
Recovery Week

Phase 1 is basically core and balance to build a solid foundation. You'll be building on this for the next two phases. I know X2 Core and X2 Balance & Power is included in phase 1. You'll be helping your balance for that feared 4 ball pushup later.

Phase 2 will focus on strength and will incorporate the Plyocide and Chest, Back, & Balance workouts.

Phase 3 will focus on increasing your performance. This is when P.A.P. (Post Activation Potentiation) comes into play - PAP Upper, and PAP Lower. It basically consists of doing a weighted exercise immediately followed by an explosive exercise.

I did, however, manage to get the lengths of the DVDs.

X2 CORE 56:54
PLYOCIDE 56:48
RECOVERY + MOBILITY 58:20
X2 TOTAL BODY 63:45
X2 YOGA 68:07
X2 BALANCE + POWER 63:21
CHEST + BACK + BALANCE 60:15
X2 SHOULDERS + ARMS 53:04
BASE + BACK 56:26
P.A.P. LOWER 62:56
P.A.P. UPPER 53:06
V SCULPT 54:18
X2 CHEST + SHOULDERS + TRIS 49:28
X2 AB RIPPER 17:27

So it looks like every day is at least an hour. I usually start shortening up the warmup and cool down sessions after a couple weeks. I don't feel I need to warm up as much considering I am already in pretty good shape.

Should be a blast! Who's gonna do it?

I have it on order and will be doing it. I find it interesting that the phases seem flexible on how long you stay in them.

If anything I lengthen them as I progress. The stronger you get, the more muscles you have, and the more sore you can get. It's easy to fall into the trap of thinking you are "warmed up", and then bam.. injury. It's kind of like running in the summer vs. the winter. Stretching in the summer is just as important, even though you "feel" warm, it's important to stretch out those muscles.

I'm really excited about yoga being shorter. Spending 1:30:00+ can really make things tight in the morning. The rest of the workouts seem to be pretty close / slightly longer to p90x. Can't wait!

P90xJeff makes a good point. Examples would be NFL players. They warm up for about 1 hour before the game. Once you bulk up some you have to be even more careful.
