I'm going to be starting this day too.

Except, I already missed my first workout.. Chest & Back / ARX.
I'll probably end up either a) doing everything a day late, and getting no rest day on sunday, or

b) doing plyo & chest and back tomorrow (ARX, too) depending on how i feel after chest and back.. we'll see.

good luck to everyone
(this is my second attempt at p90x, btw. first time i got through phase 1 and bailed..)

see ya'll at day 90!

Finished first day and had to limit my reps. I proved to myself that softball shape is not really anything special. It wad rough but it will be worth it in the end.

Hey, I just started today too, first workout was a killer, i was drenched in sweat. i'll be your partner if you want to help motivate eachother, im 230 trying to get down to 190, im a pretty big guy. let me know what you think.

dasheppard, Sounds like a great idea. I am hovering around 200 trying to get down to about 185, maybe 180 if I really can push myself. Being on business travel and other those other distractions make it hard to eat right. I really need to get on that program.

One more who started 7/5. I got the tapes and everything else I needed over the weekend and just started. I'm 188, and don't mind that weight as long as I change about 10lbs of fat to muscle. Similar to wolfhound, kids and travel will make it a challenge, especially the diet.

I'm on vacation for a week next week when I know I won't be able to follow the diet exactly so I'm trying to figure out if I should start everything over at day 1 when I get back, or keep exercising daily on vacation without the diet without starting over.

Day 1 workouts were rough! Dive bombers and diamond pushups killed me (not to mention the ARX workout).

Welcome All!

I am almost finished with my 3rd week of P90X! The first week was tough..... but with sheer determination I made it through!

You will all love the workouts ahead of you. I actually look forward to them and feel great at the end!

I wish all of you luck - "BRING IT"!

I started the program on 7/3 instead of 7/5 so I'm a little further ahead. Quick backround - I've been working out with cardio and weights for about 6 months at which time I lost 30lbs and I've been eating relatively healthy during this time. Going into the p90x, I'm 5'10 175lbs and looking to lose about 15lbs of fat and add 10lbs of muscle.
I'm using Bodylastics resistance bands for all of the weight/pull-up bar exercises.

Here are my thoughts:

Chest & Back (Day 1) - I made it through in one piece and overall, I thought it went well. I was feeling the burn as early as the warm-up and felt great after it was over. I didn't realize I needed to do Ab Ripper X so I had to do it the next day.

Pylometrics (Day 2) - This workout murdered me. I thought I had enough cardio to make it through and I got crushed before I even made it halfway through. I can't remember the last time sweat so much and with about 30 mins to go I was feeling light-headed, dizzy, and nauseous. As much as I wanted to continue, I had to abort.

Ab Ripper X (Day 2) - I ended up doing this on Day 2 after Pylo and it didn't go well. The main problem is that I wasn't able to balance myself well enough to do some of the exercises. I also noticed that my lower back was bothering me more than anything else and it really prevented me from doing as well as I thought I could. I'm wondering if the back issue is a result of carrying around an extra 20lbs of stomach fat for so many years.

Shoulders & Arms (Day 3) - I enjoyed this workout a lot and didn't have too much trouble. The biggest annoyance for me is figuring out which weighted bands to use, swapping them out, and dealing with the buckles rubbing against me when I'm doing certain exercise. Other than that, it went well.

Ab Ripper X (Day 3) - I did much better this time around (although back still hurting) so I attribute my poor performance on Day 2 to what happened with Pylo. I was able to so at least 10 reps for all of the exercises and made it through in one piece.

So, after 3 days, I feel good but my legs are very, very, sore. It feels like someone beat me in the quads with a bat and my glutes and hammies are almost as sore. I hope my lower body feels better before Legs & Back in a day or so otherwise it might be too difficult.

I'm getting ready for Yoga tonight. I have never done anything remotely Yoga in my life so it should be interesting. I didn't buy Yoga blocks so hopefully I can use something around the house (books, tupperware, etc.).
