Need to change up a few things... 7 Months ago Karma: 3
I need to come up with a change on some of my routines. I find myself matching the same number of reps from the previous weeks. I went out and bought heavier dumb bells but still need to increase the intensity in other body parts.

So... When doing the Chest and Back routine, for round 2, I will do the advance moves on the Pushups (one leg up)until failure, then go to my knees until failure.

Better yet, I need to start doing the advance moves for everything now in order to be promoted from Arcadian to Spartan.

Just thinking and writing...

I am right there with ya, this first week I saw in increase, but the second I start to plateau with reps/weight, I'm joining ya with the increased intensity. I think it will definately lower the reps and add a few more muscle groups during exercises that we normally dont use them.

Yea - I did that D-Day +1 and up to now. I can tell my biceps are getting a little bigger because of increasing the weights.

What do you guys think of going hardcore in RD 1 then do the reg pushups etc in RD2. For example, Pushups, I said before I would lift leg up in RD 2 to make it harder. What about doing that in RD1 then do Reg pushups in RD 2? I think it could help increase the number of reps eventually.

Yea, I think it would be better. I'll let everyone know if it has increased my number of reps.

I'm curious about this too. Would what you are doing be similar to a pyramid where you start with lots of intensity and work down to fewer reps towards the end?

Court I think you're leaning towards a strip set where your goals is to start high and finish low.
what I was talking about is to go for failure both rounds.

I believe doing this way does help. I've done this 2 times and I can feel a difference plus I could do more reps in RD 2. I read that Addict is doing this as well and It seems to be working. If your feel like you are starting to plateau, this will do the trick. As stated in previous post, I've also increased the dumbbell weights and now doing 8 to 10 reps. I can start to see some veins popping out in my arms.

Guys - Don't go sissy and do lighter weights - Do the 8 - 10 reps with heavier weights, you won't regret it.
