Looking for advice from a graduate 5 Months, 3 Weeks ago

Okay, so I'm just beginning, getting almost to the end of Week 1. I'm trying to Bring It, and feel like I am working hard, but finding that I'm further away from keeping up with the videos than I'd expected to be. For instance, Day 1 I was able to do a few pullups(and then did the rest with bands), but couldn't do any Dive Bombers or Diamond pushups (althouth I did do plenty of regular Pushups, some military, etc.). I simulated what I couldn't do with a Bowflex (keeping hands/arms positioned as in Diamond pushups, 'dipping' a bench press as in Divebombs). Ab Ripper X has been a struggle as well, and I admittedly could not complete it the first two times (although I improved, and expect to complete today). I was able to do everything on plyometrics and Shoulders/Arms, with breaks.
I realize that it is only Week 1, and I will vastly improve, but wondering if I should consider backing off to P90 before continuing with X. I am not afraid of the challenge, but just trying to decide which would be most efficient for me at this point in time. Obviously, X is the more intense workout, but if I am not able to keep up moderately to start, am I wasting time?
I guess I'm reasonably sure that other people have had the same experience to start, stuck with it, and had great results, but I'd like to actually hear that. As the intro to the program states, there is an expectation that you are in good condition to begin. I have the will, but even though I passed the fitness test not sure if I'm in proper 'starting shape.'
Any advice/experiences would be appreciated.

Blues, you are experiencing what everyone to a (wo)man has experienced to some degree. With every day/week/phase you will build strength. A lot has to do with you muscles not having the engrams (muscle patterns) to perform the exercises yet. With time, your muscles will learn what to do. Then, you will move out of the phase and confuse the muscles again!!
As for pushups, many of us do what we can from our ties (standard), then we break to our knees and do a couple of more. If you are at zero, then do a few from the knees to start to build the engram.
You will build reps and weight with time and reps!!!
Enjoy!

I expected as much, just wanted to hear from someone who has been through it. I am not quite at zero, except for the dive bombers, but far from where I want to (and will) be. I had no intent to back down to P90 unles I got the response that it would be better to come back to 90x when I was a little more ready for it.

Stick to it and the numbers will go up. Modify when you need to get the reps in. Do as many pushups as you can, then do the rest on your knees till you can't do any more. Use a chair for pullups after you do as many as you can.
When I started legs/back, I couldn't do any pullups without a chair (broke my collarbone in October and never exercised since). Now I can do about 20 throughout the entire workout. I still use the chair to get more reps in and usually by the last set of pullups I'm lucky to get 1 in without the chair.
My goal for the last 5 weeks is to get 10 done in the first set.

listen to your body
if you feel like you're not in shape, stubbornness won't make up for what you lack, what that is I can't say as it is subjective.
but a bit of heart and desire can make one achieve the impossible.
so ...
