Getting near the finish of my first round of p90x. Started at around 192 (just under 6 feet) and am down to 175. Very very pleased with the results.

Obviously I want to keep going and want to shed the last bit of "stubborn" fat. I bought Insanity but the more I read, the more I worry I will lose some of the musce definition I've worked so far (especially pleased with chest and shoulders). Considering I want to lean up some more but just lose a little weight, I'm thinking a p90x/Insanity hybrid is the way to go.

I want this to be a program that will obviously cut me up some more, but perhaps more importantly be a workout I can continue for a loooong time to keep and maintain my results. Because I want to use this program over the long term, I am trying to narrow it down to 5 days (sunday thru Thursday) because I know I can continue that pace over the long haul.

My hybrid will consist of 2 p90x resistance days and 3 Insanity cardio days. I have phased the Legs & Back workout out because I would rather have the majority of the workouts be cardio than resistance to meet my goals and I believe my legs will be thoroughly worked out on the Insanity workouts.

Any help/input/critiques/etc greatly appreciated.

Week 1 and Week 3
Day 1 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 2 - Chest & Back and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 3 - Pure Cardio
Day 4 - Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 5 - Cardio Power & Resistance

Week 2 and Week 4
Day 1 - Plyometric Cardio Circuit and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 2 - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 3 - Pure Cardio
Day 4 - Back & Biceps and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 5 - Cardio Power & Resistance

Week 5 (recovery week)
Day 1 - Pure Cardio and Abs
Day 2 - Core Synergistics
Day 3 - Cardio Recovery & Max Recovery ad Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 4 - Core Cardio & Balance
Day 5 - Core Synergistics and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs

Week 6 and Week 8
Day 1 - Max Interval Plyometrics and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 2 - Chest & Baxk and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 3 - Max Interval Circuit
Day 4 - Shoulders & Arms and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 5 - Max Cardio Conditioning

Week 7 and Week 9
Day 1 - Max Interval Plyometrics and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 2 - Chest, Shoulders & Triceps and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 3 - Max Interval Circuit
Day 4 - Back & Biceps and Ab Ripper X or Cardio Abs
Day 5 - Max Cardio Conditioning

Week 10 (recovery week)
Same as Week 5 above.

The long term plan would be to just repeat Weeks 6 through 10 continuoually.

Thoughts?

I like it and say go for it, but i've made a few changes because you don't want to be working abs that much. Insanity works your core alot so I think it would be best to do your ab workouts on those days! Also no need to do ARX or Cardio Ab's on recovery weeks, it would put you working your Ab's the entire week. Keep us up to date on how it goes!
