TOPIC: Finish Line in Site

Next week is my last week but I'm having a hard time gettting there. I'm just done with P90x. I work out at 5am and I've slept in a couple of days this week. I make it up at night but I hate working out in the evening. I'm not complaining about the program, I love it but I'm just done with it already!
Anyone else struggle towards the end? |

Ya, it's only 90 days but it's a grind not doubt. On my first round I was getting up way early too and it sucked. Try and finish strong. What's 1 more week when you've already put in 12?

I'm definitely going to finish up strong. And what you said I keep telling myself, "Only two weeks left, only one week left..."
As for post p90x, I'm not sure. When I started I was about 188, in the previous three years I went from 245 to 188 on my own, through eating properly and working out at a gym 4-5 days a week. My goal was to lose about 10 pounds, which isn't going to happen (I'm down to about 183), but I'm ok with it. My wife has the 10 Minute Trainer CDs, I may try that workout and see if I can get a bit more lean, and when I hit my ideal weight, move back to a more normal workout routine, which will be a combo of weight training on my own (at home) and the P90X DVDs, especially the cardio and yoga discs. I also play hockey and with the summer and warmer weather approaching, my wife and I purchased bikes, so I'm going to incorporate that into my routine. I think as the summer whinds down I may take another run at P90x. I definitely can't get right back into it, I need a break. But I'm not going to stop working out, that's for sure. Any suggestions? |

You sound like me. At the end of my 90 days (3 weeks ago)I was down 10 pounds and 3% bf. I started in an ok place at only 135lbs and 18% bf. I didn't follow the diet guide so was ok with my results too.
I had no intention of taking another run at P90X right away...or ever? I have a full compliment of weights at home and was going to do a hybrid thing going forward: some P90X and some more traditional iron pumping stuff 5 days a week or so. Then wonder of wonders, my wife showed an interest in P90X. I was all over it and said - if she wanted - that I'd do it with her. We just finished Day 2 yesterday. I was sick of P90X at the end of my 1st round but I think it was being sick of getting up at 3:30am alone that was getting to me more than anything. Now I have a w/o partner and we're doing it in the evenings. I'm actually psyched again. I have the 10 minute disks, too. The ab one I like but have never seriously done the others. |

I didn't follow the diet guide either. I'm thinking of trying it but not so sure. I eat OK as it is, it's not a problem. And trying to keep a diet during the summer isn't an easy thing to do.
My wife has no interest in P90x so that won't be a problem. She does want to do the 10 Minute Trainer but she hasn't gotten to it yet. I'm not big on workout partners, I like to be alone (one of the few times I get some quiet around the house!) and do what I have to do. I played around with the 10MT discs but never followed the workout layed out, I plan on doing that this time. I modified it when I did use them. I was doing some research online and it's amazing what they tell you as far as weight goes. Now I'm 5'10 and weigh about 184. I look pretty good, but according to some sites online, "I'm extremely overweight." I should be like 165. Not for nothing, I'd look like a pipsqueak at that weight. I'd like to get to about 178 or so and I'd be happy. But even that comes up as "overweight." Whatever! |

I'm not following the diet this time around either.
Overall weight means nothing to me. Bodyfat %age is the key as far as I'm concerned. At the end of these second 90 days I want to get to 10% bodyfat and to have made similar strength gains to the ones I realised in round 1. If sucessfull I'll probably be only 115-120lbs by then (125 now). I'm only 5'5" but your websites would probably say that's underweight. Whatever. |
