TOPIC: Starting P90x

Starting P90x 3 years, 9 months ago #4282

I am starting P90x soon, but wonder how difficult it will be to stay focused. I have become somewhat of a fast food junkie as a result of working retail and going to school full time. I have tipped the scales at 250lbs at 6ft tall and hope to be able to get myself down to around 200 by christmas/new years. I have gone so far as to make a friendly bet with a coworker to say that I will reach his weight by Christmas as a way to keep myself focused, but i know it will be harder than that. I have posted the least flattering picture on this site to keep me focused more on the ultimate goal of becoming more defined and healthier. Any suggestions as to how to keep focused would be appreciated.

Thanks for reading.

Just stick with it and keep pushing play. Even if you don't feel like it that day, just put the tape in and push play. Once it's in there, you'll do the routine.

Find what motivates you. Maybe working with a friend or co-worker. Some people make posters of their current picture and put it in front of their bed to get motivated every time they get up and see it.

Find what works for you. Find when your best time to workout is. Try and pump yourself up for your workouts. You'll love the results.

Cheers!

Just remember

Eat Less will not help you but only hurt you. Do not cut anything out of the diet plan.

And if you want to lose weight... Do more reps with a lighter weight/band. A heavier but less reps will only make you bigger.

Good luck to you! There are people to help you get motivated when you need it!

Glad To Have Another Join The P90X Train. Time Management would be a good focus point, at times you might say I can do it later and BAM! Be Too late to do your Work-out, but don't worry if you can't make a work-out, you'll just have to do it on your rest day. Eating, you need to watch if you plan on losing 50 lbs by Christmas. Sometimes you might not be able to get around this obstacle, jus try cutting down on fast food and other junk, try to find alternatives. About losing that weight for the bet. In Order To Lose Weight and Keep It Off, Most you can lose a week on average is 2-3 lbs. So Say if you start in September. By December maybe the most you could lose up 2 is 30-35 lbs. But Doesn't Mean It Can't be Done, Just Saying it'd Be pretty Hard. Not To Even Exclude when you gain muscle and gain weight from it. But the Result are Worth the 3 Months. I'm On my Last week in Phase 2, before recovery, and have lost 10 LBs and gone down a pant size(Or 2 NOt Sure Yet). Also Pushing Play helps 2
