Hey every one, just finished week 2 of the first cycle and I did kenpo on the 6th day. I feel totally drained and I know I should have hit it alot harder but today I felt totally drained. I still worked up a sweat and sipped an energy drink throughout the workout and had a recovery drink after but truthfully I didnt feel it today. I am taking a rest tomorrow and just recovering with hopes of bringing it on tuesday as day 1 of week 3. My wife has commented on the differrences she has seen in such a short time and even I have to admit that my jeans are fitting a little looser. I guess what I want to know is, has anyone else hit this wall of fatigue and what did you do to get over it. I work strait nights as an ER nurse and usually get broken sleep at best on the days when I am coming off nights. I have felt good up until now and don't want to be sidelined by plain old fatigue, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch..Bugleboy.

hey bugleboy. so this is totally off your topic (since i just ordered my stuff and i'm not going to start til the 30th)...but i work nights too (7p-7a) and i was just wondering when you do your workouts? i was thinking trying to stay consistent & doing them at 8am - which works well on days i get off, but not so much when i'm trying to sleep in...
sorry i can't be more specific about p90x, but i have worked with a personal trainer before, & i know there were days i didn't want to be there, but after a couple of sessions, i was back in the right frame of mind. even though you weren't feeling it today, you still hit it, which is more than some people would do. take a break, go for it tuesday as planned. i have total faith in you!

I generally go home very tired so I crawl into bed right after a showe and usually wake at 0200pm. my work out usually starts at arround 0230. then I take another power nap from 0600pm till 0930pm. I have found that this schedule works for me as my body wont let me sleep past 0200pm, which can really get in the way..lol. I envy your ability to start a workout right after work, man I am so drained that it is all I can do just to have a shower some days.
Thank you for your words of encouragement, i do plan on hitting it Tuesday and as hard as possible, but Monday is my rest day and I think all I will do is walk the dog..lol.
Just as an aside, you are going to love p90x, I have had to modify some of the exercises and becuse of my bad knees and excessive weight I have had to replace plyo with cardio x. but I dont regret buying p90x, I just regret letting myself go for so long..lol. keep me posted on how you are doing and what some of your thoughts as you go through the program, would love to see if we share any of the same thoughts. Take care..Bugleboy.

I try to do a few things to fight off fatigue, because I also have a busy schedule.
1. Drink lots of water. I find I am less tired when I am well hydrated. It seems simple, but it amazes me how I feel when I get even 8 ounces less.
2. Proper nutrition and eating enough calories. If I cheat the diet, it can be a couple of days before I get back to feeling full strength. There are also days where I don't eat enough, or I cram my food into 3-4 meals instead of 6. In both cases, I find I'm way more worn out.
3. Getting enough rest. If I'm getting less than 8-9 hours a night, I'm completely wiped out. Have you tried breaking your naps up into 3 -30 min naps? Just an idea that might help give you more energy.
4. Snack before your workout. My morning workouts suck. I run out of energy well before the end of the workout. The only thing I can pinpoint is that I haven't eaten. Maybe put some ceral or protein bars next to your bed. If you wake up 1-2 hours before you usually get up, you can grab a bite or two and see if that helps get you through the workouts right after you get up.

I just finished week one and I sleep like I am on horse tranqualizers!! Are you getting enough sleep?
I am also eating a lot, my body is starving for nutrients. Pay attention to your body, eat healthy and good sleep.
I have talked to a few people I know at work doing P90X and they have the same symptoms of ravenous and sleeping longer than normal.
For him, now in week 4-5, his sleeping and eating habits have return to normal. It was just week 1 of phase 1 and week 1 of phase II killed him and I feel the same.

I did the same thing bro. Just get your mind right and push threw it. Like everyone else said make sure your eating, drinking, and sleeping. I hit this point halfway threw and i tell you what i wish i hadnt. Check out some before and after pics for motivation, thats what i do. Just anything to get your mind right and take care of your body until then do the best you can, and just try and get out of the funk. My results could have been much better if i handnt been in a funk for a week or so.

I had the same issue and found that I needed to increase my calories. Plus, I added some more carbs for energy. Definitely felt better the next week and wasn't sleeping all the time.

Don't know if you are into the supplements, but I find that NOXplode keeps my focus and strength up through out my workout. On the cardio days I only take one scoop because I don't like my heart pumping to fast artificially, but on the days you are lifting, I take two to three scoops, after my body got used to the feeling. Only down side is there is no sleeping afterward for several hours. Do some research there are some great pre-workout drinks that are low calorie and work as fast as 15 minutes prior to a workout.
