Encouragement Please 5 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi everyone,

I am almost finished with week 3 of phase 1 of the Lean program. I have been working my tail off. I have not missed one day. The very first week I lost 5 pounds. Nothing since! My clothes are not getting looser yet and I don't understand why. I feel a little frustrated about it.

Sorry for the whining, but I am ready to see some changes.

Thanks!

Yes, I have been doing Weight Watchers. The nutrition program that came with it seemed kind of odd to me. Do I have to do their nutrition program for it to work?

Thanks again.

I never really lost that much weight for the first 90 days. My total weight loss was 10 lbs. but I dropped 4 inches off of my waist and added about the same on my chest. The change is more noticeble during phase 2 and 3. Keep doing the workouts and stay with a good diet plan and you will see results. You will be glad you did. We are all here for you. Good luck!

Don't forget that muscle weighs more than fat so you may actually be maintaining your weight due to a gradual increase in muscle mass.

Any healthy diet plan will work as long as you have enough energy to get through the workouts.

I think you will be amazed after 90 days! Keep it going!

Thanks for the encouragement. I am not stopping - I am determined to see this through. I am actually getting ready to start Kenpo X after I log out of here.

Whip,

Actually, the phrase "muscle weighs more than fat" is misleading. Here's why...

A pound of muscle weighs as much as a pound of fat...one pound. However, a pound of muscle takes up less space than a pound of fat, it wiggles less, and looks more physically appealing. Muscle is metabolically more active than fat which increases our metabolic rate. It may sound a little like semantics, but it really isn't.

This has been discussed extensively here in the forums and I'd encourage those with an interest to use the search engine for additional information.

Thanks for the information Kevin. I am no a muscle vs fat expert but what you are saying is true and my statement is indeed misleading.

Angie, Keep pushing play sista! I am also a female and it can get frustrating as our bodies can act so differently at times. We deal with the weight/water retention of our cycles (which I am SO lucky to gain water weight NOT 1 but 2x per month).

Im only on week 2 of classic but Ive been burning alot and eating under my daily caloric needs and I gained 2lbs....but of course my husband loses 8 POUNDS!!! Which Im happy for him just jealous!

Just keep doing it every day. I am following the nutrition program outlined in the program, although Im eating a level under where I should be as I just cant eat that much. Its not really a wierd diet, its desinged to lean you out more with more proteins and less carbs. I believe its because when you eat meals with carbs, simple or complex, when your exercising the body will use the energy from the carbs that are stored vs. pulling it from fat and therefore burning the fat.

Just try tweaking things here and there and contiue to bring it!

BTW - have you had a hormone panel done to make sure your metabolism is on track? 1 in 4 woman will end up with thyroid disease. I have it and have had other hormone issues that have kept me from losing weight....actually the one made me gain it uncontrollably. Just checkin

Thanks Aud,

Yep, I have had blood work done and no thyroid problems. My weight has gone up and down my whole life. I recently had to be on Prednisone and it has messed with me a little bit. I am not on it now. I have just started week 4 of lean (have not missed a day) and plan on continuing. I am going to try their nutrition plan and see if that makes a difference.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi!
I am starting week 4 of the classic..I haven't lost too much in the way of weight either---although I did lose 3/4 an inch in my waist. From what I've read, a lot of changes happen in phase 2 and 3, so I would say keep pushing play!!
