Anyone else RESTARTING P90X after giving up? 8 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hello,
I completed the first 30 days back in April and lost 9 - 10 lbs and felt great, but then I got the flu sinus infection and I did not continue.
Once I recovered, I was overcome by this INCREDIBLE sense of
UN-MOTIVATION!!! I tried to "kick-start" the program several times during the following weeks but was unsuccessful.

NOW I am getting that old motivated feeling (mostly because I see the scale inching up on me!) I refuse to go backwards!

I just want to know if there is anyone out there who has experienced the loss of drive and motivation that I once had?
Why or what methods did you use to get back to the program?
How long did it take for you to come back?
What are good ways to keep the drive and desire going?

I plan on starting up regurlarly this Monday!!!
Thanks!

Hey chupacabra! You know I have battled with this struggle myself. I plan on going back to P90X on Monday also. All I can really tell you is that once you are in a routin that is really all you need. Well good luck and try to tell yourself it is all about changing your life.

not exactly the same situation, i actually finished, BUT, once i did, that was it. stopped doing anything (again) for about 5 months. nearly lost all that i had gained (well, fat lost). waist went from 40+, down to 37, back up to 40. weight stayed about the same tho, but it was definitely because i was gaining all the fat back and losing the muscle.

i guess my main motivation for getting back into it after 5 months was my wedding which is coming up in 2 weeks. and you know, once you start seeing/feeling the results, it just keeps you going. family and friends noticing the difference helped a lot too =)

cocoimloco,
Thanks for that info, I know that when I quit, even though I lost those pounds, I never really gained much back over the 3 mounths - but I did feel "flabbier" so that is scary because if you don't gain a whole lot back, then you get this false sense of security...

Hey! I am restarting P90x after finishing the program. I gained weight due to illness. I am so happy to finally get back on it. I hate being fat!

Big <HIGHFIVE>!!

To all of you who decided to pick this awesome routine back up and give it another go. You are all motivating even if you don't know it.

Nothing like when a prize fighter gets back up off the mat. I look forward to reading all of your progress and seeing 30-60-90 day pics.

Good Luck!!

my answers :

1.There is no methods , if you wanna be stronger then anothers , you will train harder and harder to be better. Remember you foes , i remember every bad word which another people said to me.. Make a goals , i suggest you to make a notebook , write p90x schedule in there , something about sport... read books , watch movies about sport , for example rokie , jackie chan , bruce lee movies...

i quit since May.... long time, but i wasnt sitting and doing nothing.!

if you really cannot make-up-your-mind , when i suggest read books about self-hypnosis i tried once

I restarted yesterday. After being very sedentary for a year or two it's obviously hard to jump right into. But now it's easier acclimating to it since it's the third time I'm starting it again. I had my epiphany over the weekend though and I know this time it's for keeps.

I stopped due to my computer crashing and lost my support with my fellow post friends. I just got a new computer. I will be starting again in February. I kept myself active during the summer though. When winter comes, I will be looking forward to being active with P90X. I was 206 when I started and got down to 186. I am now about 190 and stayed that way since I've stopped. Can't wait to start again.

Re:Anyone else RESTARTING P90X after giving up? 6 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 10
For my first 90 days I was good. Hardly missed a workout. But it was very hard with two young kids in the house. I was getting up before 4 most days just to get the w/o's in.
After that there was a month or so where I eased up a bit but was still working out fairly regularly with P90X. Then me and my wife agreed to do a round together - my second, her first. The first 30 days went pretty good but after that we crashed and pulled the plug. Since then we've been doing our own thing. Me a mix of P90X, P90X+ and 1 on 1. She her regular gym classes. For the summer I've been working out on average 3 days per week and I'm ok with that. You gotta get out there and enjoy the summer too! When summer's over I'll get back to 4, MAYBE 5 days. I don't see doing another full round anytime soon.
The point to all this - and I'm sure most of you have figured it out already - is that when it comes to being fit there is no finish line. For you guys re-starting that's great. When you do finish your 90 days though, just be careful to NOT think of it as the end. The second you start resting on your laurels you start going backwards. Rather, think of your Day 90 as the end of the beginning. Your new beginning. Onwards.

Re:Anyone else RESTARTING P90X after giving up? 6 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I'll probably be restarting in a month or two. I initially attempted it when i was 260 lbs back in early june. I got three weeks in before my knees, shoulder, and elbow were getting bad. Mostly my right knee where I have some ligament issues. I decided to focus on diet, and do light cardio + push ups/situps/pull ups when I felt up to it. Down to 225 now with the goal of 205. Once I get there I'm gonna restart and hopefully with the weight loss and light workouts on the way it will be less stress on my joints
