Hi all, am finally subjecting myself to the P90X. My current stats are:

Male
38 yrs
6'3"
286lbs

I have not always been overweight but went from 210 to 286 over the last 7-8 years. I guess I just let myself go.

I have been reading the threads on here and in detail about the three programs. I took the fit test yesterday and realized how terribly out of shape I am. I can't even do a 1/4 pull up and maxed out at 5 pushups. I am embarrassed to say the least.

I can't seem to decide between the Lean and the Classic program. My main goal is weight loss and I have seem mixed reviews on both programs. Anyone who has experience with both, can you please advise what program would yield better results?

Thanks.

Classic all the way. Lean removes one of the resistance days, which is just as important in losing weight/getting fit as anything.

but where you'll make the greatest impact is how you approach nutrition. stick to a solid clean diet and your results will be tremendous (regardless if you do classic or lean). good luck!

Classic is the one most people use and i would use classic. make sure you have great nutrition, as that will greatly help you lose weight faster and give you more energy. as for motivation, you gotta find that desire in yourself to stop looking fat and get skinny and ripped. it may be difficult at some points, but work hard and youll see some extraordinary results

I can't speak for the lean program as I've not done it but, the classic melts the fat better than I expected. I was 256 when I started and am down under 230 with 4 weeks left in the program. I can't image what I would have accomplished had I known what I was doing the first few weeks. The nutrition part is a little difficult to get your head around at first but once you have it, it's as easy as 1, 2, 3. Much cheaper too!
