I rested on Friday. We went to the Suns game and I fell asleep on the ride home so I went straight to bed. Starting fresh this week tonight!

Re:Week 7, Day 1 (Day 43) - Biceps & Back 2 Weeks, 3 Days ago Karma: -1
Well, I am definitely sick today... I think it's some sort of allergy related illness, but I had a fever last night after doing my workout, and I had to sleep it off. Even now, I'm still only around 60% or normal. Regardless, I pushed through biceps and back last night. I was really hoping my last week of Phase 2 before the recovery week would be better than week 2, but there were only a few exercises that I was able to increase weight or reps on. A few I was only able to increase reps by 1 rep, and when I increased weight, I almost always had to do less reps. On a good note, I was able to buy 40 pound dumbbells yesterday and it made the back exercises a lot more challenging! I was only able to do 30 lawnmoweres and 24 elbo out lawnmowers! I had been doing reps of like 20-25 beforehand with my 30's, so it feels good to up the weight there!

Here are my nutrition stats (which were terrible because of a birthday dinner that included homemade mac and cheese and cake for dessert):

Calories: 3161
Fat: 42% (143g)
Carbs: 38% (282g)
Protein: 20% (152g)

Week 7, Day 2 (Day 44) - Sickness... Rest 2 Weeks, 2 Days ago Karma: -1
I was sick yesterday. I felt like I could probably push through Plyo, but the girlfriend convinced me otherwise so I decided to skip it last night, and pick it back up today. I always feel bad when I don't stick to the proper schedule, but what can one do when they're sick? The answer is nothing, so that's what I did. I feel better today, like 80%, so I'm going to do Plyo tonight after my second job.

My nutrition was low yesterday because of a lack of wanting to eat, again because of the illness. I ended up only eating 1540 calories and my percentages were really bad.

Fat: 44% (78g)
Carbs: 40% (156g)
Protein: 16% (63g)

I've got my meals planned out today so I am gonna hit my percentages right on the money today & report back on my kick ass results tomorrow...

Plyo tonight! Speaking of Plyo, thanks to Fitbomb, I learned that Erik with the prostetic leg in the video also played Rabbit in Super Troopers, and also starred in beerfest, club dredd, and pretty much all of the broken lizard flicks! I had no idea because he looks so different in the video! That makes 2 things I learned, 1 that Rabbit starred in P90X, and 2, that Rabbit has a prostetic leg!

Week 7, Day 3 (Day 45) - Plyometrics 2 Weeks, 1 Day ago Karma: -1
Yesterday marked the half way point in my P90X Journey. I'm happy to be on the better half of the routine, but that doesn't mean I'm going to stop bringing it.

During Plyo, I decided to push myself harder than I ever have. I burned out and my heart rate was constantly between 160 & 180. Needless to say, I feel like I got a great workout!

My nutrition was spot on yesterday!

Calories: 1892
Fat: 19% (39g)
Carbs: 34% (162g)
Protein: 47% (225g)

I did really well, and I just have to continue to push myself to do well because it's the only way I will get the results I need. I'm still very far away from my body fat % goal of under 10%, and I need to do a lot to get there. Nutrition is definitely the key.

The further I get into the workout, the more I realize that I will probably have to do another full round of P90X to get the results I'm looking for. It's not that big of a deal because I was going to do the workouts anyway, just not every day. Tonight is Chest, Shoulders, Triceps! Bring it!

Week 7, Day 4 (Day 46) - Chest, Shoulders, Triceps 2 Weeks ago Karma: -1
Chest, Shoulders and Triceps was a great workout yesterday. I still had to do a lot of the push ups modified, but I improved from last week. I wanted to push myself hard last week, so I upped weight to the point where I was not doing the exercises properly, so I decided to lower the weight somewhat for some of the exercises and I was able to do them with good form. ABRX is still really hard for me to do, but I finally did 20 mason twists with my feet off the ground and finished the last 30ish with my feet on the ground. I was feeling sprite afterwards when I saw my ab muscles in the mirror and decided to pop in P90X+ Ab/Core Plus and attept it... Some of the exercises were easier than ABRX and others were effing insane! It was all in good fun though.

My nutrition was great in my opinion, aside from me going over on calories... I think I ate 1 too many pork chops... 2 woulda been good, but I made 5, so I had 3 and the girlfriend had 2... Oh well I guess!

Calories: 2126
Fat: 19% (45g)
Carbs: 31% (161g)
Protein: 50% (260g)

Yoga X tonight! I can't wait! Gotta get centered and clear my mind after this week...

Re:Week 7, Day 4 (Day 46) - Chest, Shoulders, Triceps 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
First off, congratuulations to you Austin, keep up the AMAZING work. I am on my 12th day of p90x and have been off to a great start. Last January I was up to 265lbs (6 ft 3in tall) and was getting disgusted with myself. So from January until the end of august i was in the gym 4 times a week and dieting. My muscles and definition were through the roof and I loved it and was at 220 when starting p90x (210 now ), buttttttt, I still didnt have that ripped abdominal area, so i started p90x. And my question for you is (and anyone else reading this) has p90x burned your belly fat so you have a ripped abdominal area? I have great upper abs but my lower belly fat is so bad still i dont feel the diet and excercise has been worth it, i want the abs and the V. I know theyre there bc i can do 90% of the abber ripper X, barely any modification. Im not a pervert or anything neither but do people share pics on their production on here too?

Re:Week 7, Day 4 (Day 46) - Chest, Shoulders, Triceps 1 Week, 5 Days ago Karma: -1
I still have belly fat and love handles, but I can tell that they are going away! Every time I do Ab Ripper X it gets a little bit smaller the next day. I found that I really have A LOT of fat to lose, even still. It was much more than I thought. I'd say I still have 20-30 pounds of fat on me, even after losing close to 15 pounds since starting. It's tough, but you have to stick with it!

Week 7, Day 5 (Day 47) - Yoga X 1 Week, 5 Days ago Karma: -1
Yesterday I did Yoga X and it felt great! I will never understand why some people just don't do it... It's the best exercise you can do for your body and don't let ANYONE else tell you different!

Here are my nutrition stats. I don't know why I didn't eat a lot, but meh, I still felt good, and not drained.

Calories: 1519
Fat: 18% (31g)
Carbs: 40% (156g)
Protein: 42% (161g)

This morning I switched to doing my workouts in the morning. I'm planning on getting up an hour and a half early in order to get my workout in every day. That means setting my alarm for around 4:15am every day... Gonna try to get to sleep around 9pm to get enough sleep in from now on.

Re:Week 7, Day 6 (Day 48) - Legs and Back 1 Week, 4 Days ago Karma: -1
Legs and back was great! I was able to increase ALL of my pullups by at least 1 and I did the leg exercises a lot better than I have done them in the past. For the most part, I kept the same weight, or even dropped it some to improve my form. I'm up to 30's on the 3 way calf raises. It's funny because I find it harder to hold the weights with my hands than I do the calf raises (not to say I don't feel it, I definitely do!), because after all those pullups, it makes heavy dumbbells hard to hold on to for 75 reps... LOL!

My nutrition:

Calories: 2098
Fat: 27% (59g)
Carbs: 46% (226g)
Protein: 27% (137g)

No good on the percentages, but I ate a lot less calories than I thought I did. I figured I was up around 2500, so that was a decent surprise.

Week 7, Day 7 (Day 49) - Kenpo AM X Stretch PM 1 Week, 4 Days ago Karma: -1
I did P90X+ Kenpo/Cardio Plus in the morning, and got a great workout! I started working out in the morning the previous day for legs and back, and will be doing it from now on. What I am planning on doing is describing my workout from that morning and displaying my nutrition from the previous day. K/C+ was awesome! I was sweating and burning calories like crazy!

X Stretch was a great relief last night, and it was the first workout that I did in my newly created Gym room! I decided that I was sick of doing my workouts in the living room so I converted my third bedroom/junk room into my personal gym. I also bought a power tower yesterday for pull ups, so I don't have to use a door mounted pull up bar any more. I tried it out, and they are actually a lot harder for some reason than doing them on the door. We'll see though for sure when I get to chest and back next monday!

Week 8, Day 1 (Day 50) - Core Synergistics 1 Week, 4 Days ago Karma: -1
Core Synergistics... Oh man I forgot how much this workout rocks! I woke up this morning and did this right off the bat... I don't know anyone else who's busting out sphynx push ups at 4:30am, and I'd like to say they are missing out... but that would just be a total lie. I hated getting up early, but after the warm up, I was awake, and ready to work! My core already hurts, but it's a good pain... as Ron Burgandy would say, "It's a DEEP BURN!!!" Good stuff nontheless!

My nutrition from yesterday was decent caloriewise, just not percentages-wise... which seems to be the weekend trend... LOL!

Calories: 1707
Fat: 18% (34g)
Carbs: 50% (214g)
Protein: 32% (135g)

Gonna get back into the right percentages today! Started my morning strong and I've got the rest of my day planned so I'll hit my numbers today!

Re:Week 8, Day 1 (Day 50) - Core Synergistics 1 Week, 3 Days ago Karma: -1
Ok, so I didn't wake up early today, so that expariment didn't end up working out. I'm going to start back up working out at night tonight with Yoga X. I also noticed that I accidently flip flopped Yoga and Core for the recovery week... oops! Oh well I guess.

My nutrition stats from yesterday were right on point.

Calories: 1809
Fat: 19% (39g)
Carbs: 36% (167g)
Protein: 45% (205g)

I am not sure if it's time for me to go out and buy a new belt, or if I should wait... but this damn thing is starting to get lose on me even on the tightest knotch... I know I need new pants too... these things are just too damn big now!

Week 8, Day 2 (Day 51) - Fountain of Yourth Yoga 1 Week, 2 Days ago Karma: -1
I watched the fountain of youth Yoga from "T-Hort's" 1 on 1 line yesterday while I was bored at work, and I decided to try it out in place of Yoga X last night. This was partially due to getting home around 11:45pm and having to be up at 6am the next morning, also, I wanted to try some of the new moves and see what it was all about!

My synopsis of FOY Yoga is that it's both harder and easier at the same time. It's easier because it's shorter, with no balance postures aside from twisting half moon and warrior 3, plus he holds the moves for a shorter period of time, it's not a full 30 seconds for the most part. Also, the Yoga Belly 7 is more of a Yoga Belly 3, with basic twisting bycycles on your back, fifer scissors and the move in Yoga X where you have your feet straight in the air and then lean your legs at a 45 degree angle to the right and hold, and then to the left.

I will say this about it though, I have never sweat so much doing Yoga before today... There were THREE chair poses at different points through the routine, one of which was Chair, Twisting chair right, then chair, then twisting chair left, then chair, all without going up to rest... and in addition to all of those chair poses, there was another pose very similar to chair pose at the end that was difficult as well. It's definitely a great alternative to Yoga X if you're looking for a more efficiant workout. I am still planning on doing Yoga X for my second day of Yoga this week on Saturday because I'll have more time, but FOY Yoga was great last night!

My nutrition was terrible partially because of eating Arbys for lunch (of which i was planning on having a very light dinner), and then my girlfriend decided to go to my second job for dinner (Islands restaurants), and I had some Fries with my small salad, which killed my ratios... I know it was a bad idea, but meh... I don't care

My Stats:

Calories: 2589
Fat: 31% (91g)
Carbs: 35% (231g)
Protein: 33% (216g)

If my fat content was down and my carbs were down a little more, I would have been right in where I'm at... it was those darn fries... Oh well I guess! haha
