Hey guys!

This will be my THIRD attempt at p90x. The first time I fell off the wagon around day 30. The second time I did remarkably well and thought had conquered all of my bad habits, but I got distracted somehow and quit around day 50. Since then, I have resumed a life of fast food and lack of physical activity. Earlier this summer, I was as heavy as I have ever been, topping out at 253 pounds. I am over 6’4 and I am built strong with broad shoulders so it doesn’t look as bad as it really is. I did manage to lose 10 pounds over the summer through a combination of running and calorie counting, but I don’t feel as though I have made any true physical change. I am still very soft and way too heavy. I should be more like 220 pounds.

I am going to show up on Monday with a simple goal: Show up. I am going to show and do my best everyday. I am going to make it about my health rather than aesthetics. Every 15 days, I will take new pictures and hop on the scale to monitor my progress. I will need your support every step of the way guys, but I am determined. Anyone who wants to join me is free! Let’s do it!

Hey tothetop23,

Have a good 1st day today. Keep posting on here and I'm sure we can help you through the full 90 this time.

Good luck.

Hey, tothetop. Sounds like we're pretty similar, so I'll join up with you! I'm also starting my 3rd attempt. I did a good 60 days in April and May of this year, and then fell off in June. Started again in August for a couple solid weeks, but my heart wasn't completely in it because I really like exercising outside and have gotten into running a bit. So I switched to a P90X/running hybrid, which meant I did the strength days from P90X, then replaced plyo, yoga, and Kenpo with running. Last summer I did Couch to 5K, this time I followed up with Bridge to 10K. I made it to about day 60 again, and then kind of tapered off again. My running was going well, I was up to about three 1.5 mile runs with a minute walk in between. I've lost quite a bit of weight during the past year, but am still too heavy (225) for the steady pounding of long runs, and my knees have started bothering me. So I decided to start a 3rd round of P90X today, which means I can get done before the holidays. Let's face it, there is no way I'm going to keep up with P90X exercise or nutrition over Christmas/New Years.

My focus is completely on P90X, and I'm planning to get up early to do it before work, I've had some success with that and it feels great to know my workout is already done for the day. Then if I can supplement it with a light run or walk after work, it's just a bonus calorie burn. I did not manage to get up early to start today, Mondays are always tough. But I did Chest & Back right away after work, and it feels great to be back into it.

Sorry for the long-winded intro, I'm ready to bring it!

Got up early this morning for plyo. I thought I was working my legs pretty good with my running these past couple months, but plyo is a completely different beast! I mainly felt the burn in my quads after running, but today it was mainly my hamstrings... oh and the quads again too!

Really feeling it in my chest and triceps from yesterday's workout, ready to get up early and hit shoulders & arms tomorrow.

Got up early again for shoulders & arms, that's a great workout. The hardest part was actually getting up after the seated and lying down exercises, because my legs were so fried from plyo! I think it's time to try a recovery drink, see if that helps.
