Skinny's Daily Log 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Well everyone, I just finished Day 1. I think it went fairly well. I definitely had to do some assisted push-ups and a lot of assisted pull-ups. Next week should go better; I wasn't puking at end which probably means I could have tried a lot harder.

I did Chest/Back in the morning and finished the AB Ripper X in the evening. That is one hell of an ab workout. I couldn't keep up with all of the moves, especially the climbing up the leg exercise.

Congrats on following through. Don't feel bad I just started week three and I'm still doing assisted pull-ups, but more of them. Along with more and better push-ups. Just keep getting on that bar. WRITE IT DOWN! and try to top the last session. The first week is tough! After my workout I scanned through the next days workout to get a feel for what was to come. And it is coming! Have fun with Plyo.

Thanks. I absolutely agree that assisted is better than nothing and that you'll improve over time. I've already started to scan through the next program to get a feel, I think everyone should do that, just gives you an idea/chance to practice the more complicated moves.

Plyo was a fun one, there were definitely moments where I just took about 5 secs to catch my breath. Again, like the other exercises, I think it is important to keep doing something (assited, run in place, etc.) instead of just stopping.

My legs and quads aren't like jello yet, but I'll find out tomorrow when I am going down the stairs...will definitely grab on tight to the railing.

DAY 3, here I come.

The other nice thing about doing something while you catch your breath is that you teach your body to recover during exercise. That's the idea behind interval training, and it's a great concept. Many sports require this skill and it'll help your body recover more quickly, too.

Remember, it's okay to hit "Pause" if you need a break, just make your break a moving one.

Sparta-bound!

Thanks Kevin, that is exactly what I have been doing. Its one of those things that us men especially forget to do...don't let the ego screw you over.

Day 3: Arms and Shoulders

At the end of the workout I felt as though I had not pushed hard enough. Maybe because I was scared to injure myself b/c I haven't lifted weights in a very long time. I wanted to start out light today, just to get a baseline--figure out where I needed heavier or lighter weights. Next week definitely will be different; I better be puking by the end. Haha.

BTW, definitely getting better at AB Ripper. One point, if they are going too fast for you to keep up...just pause, finish your reps and then press play again.

Bring on the Yoga Baby!!!!!!

You are not lying my friend, that first half especially took toll on my quads...felt the burn. And tomorrow we have Legs and Back, i just watched it and it is no joke.

But do love yoga, from now on Thursdays will be my favorite as well as the Shoulders and Arms routine.

Hey, on Sunday, we'll be done with WEEK ONE!!!!

BTW, i just got my shipment of Endurox R4 recovery drink today (did not want to use the P90X one cause I want to see my results w/o creatine). I'll see how well it helps after tomorrow's workout.

Yeah the legs were tough today. That lean against the wall killed me. I couldn't even hold at a 45 degree angle for more than 5 seconds. The only thing I'm doing completely wrong is the diet. You see I'm doing this to build muscle, but I'm not following the diet at all.

Let me know how that endurox r4 works out for you tho, i do want to get a recovery drink, just don't know what to get.

Hey Skinny

Ken Here. Just finished up legs and back with a little ab ripper on the side. Last weights for a little while. Headed into week 4. You won't believe how fast the weeks go. I'm also a chest an arms guy. Really like the Tri's. Yoga really works Three weeks ago I was 6 inches from touching my toes and now I can just hiit the tops of my shoes. I'll let you know about week 4

keep on pushing!

Ken

Deadside,

Yep, same deal here with the whole wall lean and leg raise, so about 20 seconds into i just tried to hold the wall squat...took many breaks here. But hopefully it gets better with time.

Hey that Endurox R4 (vanilla flavor) tastes like a MILKSHAKE, it was unbelievably good. You mix two scoops with 12 oz of water. Now i wish i was working in the evening so that could serve as my desert...seriously it is good. I feel pretty good, my legs were kind of tired earlier but i played full court b-ball for about 1.5 hrs and i still feel good. The real test will be on Monday after chest and back.

With regards to the diet, I decided to follow the portion plan b/c recipes are just time consuming. Right now i'm only taking in about 1500 calories/day which is scaring me...its just not enough. I'm consuming about 125g of protein/day, which is good. I need to figure out a way to get good calories or something b/c i also want to gain wait (only about 135 lbs right now).

Thanks Ken,

...For the motivation and congratulations to you, I'm guessing you've also improved a lot on all the moves, especially Yoga. And you're probably able to keep up with almost the entire program if you weren't able to before...is that correct?

P90X ridding the world of fat one pound at a time!

Tomorrow is X stretch Are you guys doing this as well?

This has to be one of the most well rounded programs around.

Definitely doing X-Stretch, that's what I've been looking forward to the most...should be interesting. Kenpo was fun, I actually kept up with the video the entire time...felt great.

X-Stretch was great on Sunday...Chest and Back was better the second time around yesterday. I think next week, I might be able to keep up with Marrine (sp). Plyo was fun today (ok, it wasn't fun) but a great workout indeed. I definitely need to really bring it tomorrow for the arms and shoulders.

Arms and Shoulders was great today, used a little heavier weights than last time. I absolutely love the way this workout is structured...arms, shoulders, triceps----gotta love it. Week 2 is almost over!!!!

Thanks Big Papa. Just trying to do my best...nothing else to do. Can't wait 'till the "recovery" week, lol.

Yoga was great, once again. Getting better at the first half (i definitely feel the burn). I had forgotten that there was couple of minutes of ab workout in there...that definitely caught me off guard, but it was great.

Legs & Back in the morning...and again, i can't wait 'till X-Stretch. If you are not doing it, you are not doing yourself a favor, YOUR BODY HATES YOU for not doing it.

Re:Skinny's Daily Log 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Damn, I was so pissed this morning...I woke up late. So I didn't have time for Legs & Back and instead did Ab Ripper in the morning (usually do that in the evenings). Later I had to go to PT (military) and we did like 160 push-ups and ran...then I played full-court basketball (can never pass that up) for 1.5 hours. I was so tired when I got home and I knew I couldn't "Bring It" for Legs & Back.

So, my plan is to wake up in the morning (not at 4) and do Legs & Back first thing, and then later in the afternoon or evening I can do Kenpo. I'll let ya'll know how that works out.

ONE MORE WEEK and then it is RECOVERY!!!!

Skinny

Hey man are you still alive??? kidding If I had to pick two workouts to do in one day. Those 2 would be it. At least you won't have to jump around after killing your legs.

Hope you survived!

Yes Ken, I'm alive (LOL), only b/c I didn't do Legs&Back and Kenpo the same day. Instead I made it up today, did it right after X-Stretch...It feels great (and it worked out better this way), especially after my delicious recove
