Val & Denu's Phase II Log 4 Months, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Well, my fiance Denu and I are a few days into Phase II now, and let me say WOW!! I'm sore already! We start our workout week on Thursday, so we're only three sessions into it. The new chest and arms routine was definitely interesting. I kind of liked the old one better, but that might just be because this one is new. The back and biceps one was pretty good though.

One thing that really surprised me though was Plyo. I don't know if it's because I'm eating more carbs now (Phase II meal plan) or just that I'm in much better shape already compared to when I started, but I really noticed a huge difference in how well I was able to keep up with the video. The first time I did Plyo I remember having a hard time making it through just the warm-up! But last time I did it, I was 100% with them for about the first half of the video. After that I started losing steam during the last five to ten seconds of some of the exercises, but there were no pause breaks to catch my breath, and all things considered I was definitely able to bring it.

Looking forward to Yoga tonight to stretch out all the MANY sore muscles

Finished the first week of phase II strong--hit every workout, and had a lot of fun. Moving into week two already and looking forward to Plyo tonight. Last week I really felt like I killed it, so I'm eager to see how I perform this week.

I must say though, the Phase II Chest, Shoulders, and Tri-ceps workout is a BEAST!! I did that one last night, and as with last week, my arms totally felt like putty afterwards. But I guess that's the whole point eh?

Ok - Time to get back on track! I finished my first two weeks of Phase II pretty strong, but then a combination of really hot weather, parents visiting from out of town, fiance taking the bar exam and then wanting to be really lazy afterwards, some nasty nasty allergies, summer distractions, and issues with work ALL COMBINED FORCES to throw me off track with my workouts. Eating got a little bit rough those few weeks as well. BUT . . .

Time to get back on the train and get things going again. I tried starting up again last week, but ended up only doing one workout - chest, shoulders, and triceps, which I did again tonight. Overall did pretty good both times. Not quite as well as I had done before the gap, but not too bad and I really did well with ab ripper tonight.

Because of the long gap, I think I'm going to do two solid weeks of the regular Phase II stuff before doing the recovery week and starting Phase III. The end result will be four weeks of the lifting total, which will hopefully get me close enough to back on track to finish up the last month. I thought about just doing Phase II all over again, but oh well - I wanna see how I do on the Phase I workouts again.

Anyways, back on board and ready to sweat - which shouldn't be too hard if this darned summer heat keeps up!
