T1m's Log (P90x Classic) 7 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Last night was day 1 week 3.

I really love the workout, nothing kills like push ups...especially those diamonds & dive bombers! I usually do pretty well on push ups but I didn't follow the "tip of the day" and went hard the first time through. I ended up having to do most of the diamonds on my knees in round 2.

Overall the second week went pretty well, I had a minor hiccup on legs/back day because of my reserve duty but just took Saturday as a rest day instead of Monday. Did legs/back on Sunday and Kenpo on Monday. My legs were feeling it yesterday though, especially my groin and buttocks.

The yoga is still the most difficult workout I think. Even though I've done yoga before this thing kills!

Diet is still going well. I followed the sample menu in week 1 but not so much since. Still following the serving guide though and eating very few carb's. Getting a little sick of eggs though, I miss breakfast burritos, even though they have eggs too!

I had a medical checkup over the weekend for part of my reserve units pre-mobilization prep and was down five pounds from when I started. I'm not worrying about the weight though, whatever comes off is gravy as far as I'm concerned. My pants are fitting looser and that is a better measure of appearance I think. I have a semi-annual Physical Fitness Assessment next month on my reserve weekend so that should give me a good idea of how well my overall fitness is improving. It consists of max push ups in 2min, max curl ups in 2m and 1.5m run.

I'm looking forward to the day 30 checkup!

Thanks for everyone's support so far!

Congrats on making it though your UTA. I know how hard it is to get those routines in after being in uniform for 8-9 hours. I agree that Yoga is the hardest so far but after your done it is such a great feeling. Keep pushing yourself.

Learned a valuable lesson today...don't run four miles and then do plyo a few hours later.

I don't know how I did it but I felt a twinge on the inner side of my knee on the very first set of runners lunge twists. After that I couldn't do any of the exercises that required twisting off my left leg. It wasn't too bad but was bad enough so I didn't want to push it. I ended up doing modified versions most of the way after that if twisting was involved.

Hopefully a little ice and a day of rest on the leg will have me good to go for yoga on Friday.

I hope your knee is nothing too serious, at least you were able to follow Blam.

Tip of the day: Do not run before Plyo, do it after if you're so inclined.

My schedule got screwed up again this week. I didn't get home until late last night and then got called from work so I put off the shoulders/arms workout until today. Gonna have to double up on yoga & legs/back tomorrow to get back on schedule.

I hate breaking my schedule but I would rather rework the schedule and get quality workouts in then do a half-a$$ one at midnight. I did more weight tonight shooting for the 8 instead of 10 reps and boy am I feeling it!

Looking forward to recovery week starting Tuesday!

BTW, knee is feeling fine. Hopefully it won't be an issue when I do plyo next.

Tks,

Week 3 Complete

Went hard on shoulders/arms on Friday and sure felt it in a good way!

Doubled up on yoga & arms/back on Saturday and knocked out kenpo yesterday. All in all the week was pretty good. I don't feel like I did the yoga as well as I could have but I think that is because I was rushed and it was early Saturday morning. I couldn't get my mind right knowing I had something going on later in the morning. Plus, other than running I'm not much on working out early.

Belt has been cinched another notch so things seem to be progressing well. I THINK I'm starting to actually see a bit of a difference in the upper portion of my abs. A result of those v-ups & pulse ups I think.

I'm finding that I do a better job of sticking to the diet, especially the 2-3hr feedings & water consumption, during the week than on the weekends.

Looking forward to my first core syn workout this week as part of my "recovery"!

Onward and Forward.

Good job on knocking out your sessions.
week end is definitely hard on strict diet.
but I guess that give you something to strive for

Don't stop you know Addict is somewhere back there trying to catch someone.
