"Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever"

Day 1

It has begun and boy does it feel good...tomorrow probably not as much.

But I loved it. Did every exercise the best I could without pushing it to the max. Used the chair quite alot for pull ups but usually 15-20reps for the push-ups.

Ab Ripper X is awesome. Quick and to the point ab workout, was able to do most of it with a few breaks but definitly have to work on my form on some moves.

Just sucking back my recovery drink Myogenix Aftershock. Now must keep diet in check.

Tomorrow Plyometrics...looking forward to it.

Welcome to the madness! In your first week is when most of us kind of feel out the program. Once you find your pace you will do just fine. Be sure to write it down. I always try to do one more rep or increase the weights. I check what I did the last time and try to out do myself.

Enjoy Plyo and "do not" "do not" "do not" give up on yoga!!!!!!!!!!

HAVE A GOOD ONE

Welcome aboard. Have a great journey.
I agree that writing things down is a great idea. I really wish I knew how many push ups I could do on day one v/s now, but I didn't write it down.
Keep us posted on how you do.

Agree with Ken, definitely write down everything. I try to do the same as well, always try to do at least one more rep and try to increase the weight by 2.5 to 5 lbs.

Looks like you are doing good...and yes, don't give up on YOGA...it will definitely work you.

Re:SixLug Daily Log 1 Month ago Karma: 0
Thanks for all of the encouragement guys.

Yes I did write everything down in the workbook.
I also made sure a made copies of all the blank workout sheets so when I possibly do a second or third round I can record it on the easy to use worksheets.

Day - 2 Plyometrics X

A little(but a good)sore this morning for plyo. This is a great intense workout. Left knee hurt about half way so had to decrease the impact. Just need more stretching.

I am actually looking forward to yoga. As I know it is important for the overall success of P90X.

Before I can think about Yoga I have Shoulders & Arms to conquer tomorrow, can't wait.

Day 3 Shoulders & Arms + ARX

The anticipation I get every morning (especially in my first week) to help me get out of bed is doing a new workout everyday this week.

Sliding that Shoulders & Arm DVD in got me excited to see what Tony had in store for me this morning. He did not disappoint.

Great and intense workout again. 8-20 reps for all excersices just to get my arms and shoulders used to the movements but I realize I need a wider range of dumbells. Tried bands for some excersices but just didn't feel right.

ARX felt great this morning only had to take three pauses, just got to watch my form and work on straightening my legs.

Till tomorrow ang Yoga X

After Pylo yesterday I barely got out of bed... Thankfully god invented Advil, this should help me with Shoulders and Arms.. You seem to be getting better adjusted to this than me ..

Good Luck on Day 4.. Look at it this way, we only got 86 more days to go?..

HaHa-Yes I've had to pop a few advil in the last couple days because I am definitely sore...but a good pain like I did something sore.

Just keep with it ZuggTastic, everybody on the forum says we are going to be sore the first week and then even the first week of phase two.

If we make it thru the first week then I think we'll get into the groove of things...I hope

Yes only 86 more days to go till we are in the best shape of are lives.

And remember "Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever"

Keep up the good work, you two!!

The discomfort only lasts a short while and then it and you get better.

Couldn't have said it any better.

Yes, the first week you'll be sore. As a matter of fact, PHASE I is called the Adaptive phase where your body gets used to the movements. I just started week two, and feeling the kind of soreness i have never felt in PHASE I, it feels great.

BTW, don't know if you guys are using a recovery drink, but it seems to help. You don't have to buy the one from Beachbody, there are plenty of others out there.

Day 4

Yoga X...what a workout 2 hrs. later and I am still feeling it. Felt pretty good for never doing Yoga before. Need work on flexibility and this will get me there.

The Crane is intense was able to do it for maybe 10 seconds then I was on my toes for the rest...felt good.

Yes Skinny I am using a recovery drink and not the Beachbody one. I wanted something with a little more protein and creatine so I am using Myogenix Aftershock. It seems to work and tastes really good(orange).

Day 5 - Legs & Back

This was a killerrrrr...most intense workout for me so far...so far.

Working some of the largest muscles in the body in the same workout.
AWESOME!!!

Increased my pullups to one extra unassisted for every set since Day 1.

ARX absolutely destroyed my abs(especially after Yoga yesterday)but only had take a few breaks when doing the Pfiefer Scissors.

Looking forward to some Kenpo

Day 6- Kenpo X

This is an Ok workout. A lot of people commented that this was there favorite so I exepected it to blow me away. It was good but I expected more.

Day 7- Stretch X

Nice stretch felt very relaxed after.

Day 8- Chest & Arms

Soreness is almost all gone from last week so I was able to increase weight and reps on every exercise. Had a great pump afterwards.

ARX was again intense but great getting close to doing all of the 349 reps.

Left knee is still sore from Plyo last week. It gave me Patellar Tendonitis from the impact (to soon and to quick) so I will switch up Plyo with either Cardio X or Kenpo X until knee heals up.

Since I haven't done Cardio X yet any comments on which workout would be best for my knee with little impact?

Re:SixLug Daily Log 1 Month ago Karma: 0
It seems were movin right on up... I noticed quite a lot change from last week, feel leaner... Which is odd since I did cheat on the meals this weekend, had a damn pizza and some pasta.. But hope to make up for it today and this week with a more of a workout/cardio..

I heard that Kenpo was not as good when it comes to cardio? So I just ran, did you sweat a lot during the Kenpo?

You'll sweat just fine with Kenpo and you'll get plenty of cardio, too. Give it a try and let us know how it goes!

Re:SixLug Daily Log 4 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Day 9 - rest instead of Plyo

I took a rest day here to rest my knee. Thought about doing Kenpo X or Cardio X but decided instead of having a cronic knee injury, rest would be a good idea. I am glad I did knee feels much better.

Day 10 - Arms & Shoulders

Seemed to have more energy today than others. Maybe from the rest day. Was able to increase reps and weight on every set so that felt good. Great arm pump today.

This round of ARX was the best I have done so far. Only a few 1 rep breaks and kept heels off of floor throughout Pfeifer Scissors...Yes

It is great feeling and seeing results. P90X is for real!

Diet has being spot on for me for the ten days. One cheat meal on Saturday and I enjoyed it and never felt guilty. I have been eating like this for awhile before P90X so fortunately for me this has been easy. Must keep diet going if I what that full six pack by Xmas. That is all that I what for Xmas...

Day 11 - Yoga X

Again I feel wiped after this workout...this yoga stuff is the real deal for a full body workout. Flexibility is a lot better than last week.

Fast forward thru some the relaxation stuff at the end. From the corpse on, I feel like I just want to go back to bed...not a good thing when I need to get ready for work and I'm already late!

All this talk of SPARTA BOUND got me to watch the movie 300 again. It will inspire you and its a great movie.

Day 12 - Legs & Back

I really enjoy this workout, time seems to go by super quick and it really gets my heart pumping...big muscles working here.

Again increased my unassisted pull-ups and legs felt good but still watching my knees as they are still a bit tender.

ARX was felt the same as last time didn't fell stronger or weaker but I did leave my shoes on this time...Oh yea I finally noticed that ARX came on the legs & back DVD at the end. Didn't have to change it over which is nice...is like this on other DVD's? I'll have to check.
