Day 82 - Plyo 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 6
Got to leave work early yesterday, so I got home, almost fell asleep, but woke myself up and did Plyo. Even though I modified some of the moves, I had a great workout! I was able to get my legs up higher in the Jump Tuck and Rock Star Hops, maybe those extra carbs? My daughters jumped in near the end to do Military March and Rock Star Hops. Last Plyo of my Round 1!

L&B and ARX tonight.

Day 83 - Legs & Back 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 6
I DID AN UNASSISTED CHINUP! I was sooooo excited! I then did 9 chair-assisted. I'm using a chair with a taller back, so my reps were lower, but I'm lifting more body weight, so that is the progress that I am measuring. I increased my reps from Back & Biceps when I started using the new chair.

I did ARX this morning, and did all reps except the V-up roll ups, did only 10, but that's the best I've done so far. Perfection in Round 2!

Tonight is Yoga X, then recovery week. Then Round 2 December 19th.

Congradulations Reading your posts it is very clear to see who much you wanted that pull-up. I am sure it was the first of many more to come. Veerukka is a Bad Ass in my book.

Way to Go!!! She is showing that Pull-up Bar who's the boss.

Keep it up

Day 84-88 Core Syn & Yoga X 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 6
Recovery week: life got in the way again. Did Core Syn on Thursday. Once again I forgot my spreadsheet at the office, but I managed to guess my way to increasing or maintaining my progress from last time. Saturday evening I started Yoga X, got through 20m when my kids interrupted me for the umpteenth time and I couldn't finish. Sunday I started Yoga X from the beginning, and finished this time.

So Day 90 is Wednesday. I still have 5 routines to do, so I will do Kenpo today, and try to do X Stretch after Kenpo. Tomorrow I will do Core Synergistics, and Wednesday I will do Yoga X. We will be taking pictures on Wednesday or Thursday!

The office Christmas party is on Thursday, I tried some of my party dresses on. I'm still bigger in the chest and waist than I was in 2000. I'm wondering if the pushups and pullups are adding enough size that I won't be able to use them again! I'm more slender in the hips, which is great for the current styles, but anything with a higher waist is still tight (skirts). Hmm. I am down to 145.5. I'm still hoping to get under 140, maybe in round 2.

Day 89-90 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 6
I used a sick day and completed Core Syn on Tuesday, then yesterday was Day 90! I did the fit test, and here are the results:

................Day 1.....Day 90
Pullups...........0.........0
(Chin-up).........0.........1
Vertical leap....9.5.......10.0
Push-ups.........10........12
Toe Touch.........0.......+1.5
Wall Squat.......1:23......1:48
Bicep Curls.....14x10lb...13x13.5lb
In & Outs........26........36
BPM 0 min........163......146
BPM 1 min........120.......93
BPM 2 min.........97.......96
BPM 3 min.........94.......90

On the wall squats, I think I was lower, but my sneakers were sliding on the floor, I think I could have stayed until 2min. The vertical leap, I didn't squat and jump, I think I would have had a better result. I am most impressed with my flexibility. I was never able to touch my toes, and now in warmups I can put my palm on the floor!

I took pictures, but they are dark, I will have to take a few more this weekend. I will post them anyway tomorrow or Saturday. I also didn't do the measurements. I am definitely smaller though,

I am down to 143.75 (I started at 140, but I was at a high of 148 3 weeks ago after Thanksgiving and my b-day thanks to being bloated from wheat & dairy). It seems to take me about 3 weeks to get over a cheat, which is why I am less and less willing to do it.

I have the Christmas party tonight, and I have to avoid the desserts. I am bribing myself to stay away from the desserts by promising to make myself a berry crisp this weekend with no dairy/no wheat. Tomorrow starts round 2.

Christmas party -- stayed on the diet wagon 1 Year, 3 Months ago Karma: 6
I survived the Christmas party. I smuggled in a large wheat-free dairy-free oatmeal & raisin cookie that I love, and ate pieces of that while others ate chocolate cake etc. I also had raspberries and strawberries for dessert. I feel fine today (except for the several glasses of red wine that I had), and didn't balloon from too much food.

Chest & Back of Round 2 today!

Round 2 Day 1-3 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
I did the body fat measurements, and my bodyfat went down from 21.4% to 17.3% in 90 days.

Did C&B on Friday. My asthma was bothering me, so I just didn't have energy to do more reps than the last time, but I kept about even.

Saturday, I did no workouts.

Sunday, I doubled up Plyo, and then Shoulders & Arms 4 hrs later. I increased my chair dips, and I did an extra 2 reps of the side tris on the left side (my weaker side). Otherwise, did about the same as week 11. Next week will be better, I am sure. I wasn't able to squeeze in ARX, I will do that today first.

Today I am not sure what I will do, Kenpo & X? Tomorrow I have a dinner, Wednesday I will do L & B, maybe I can do a little Yoga too

Round 2 Week 1 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
For various reasons, including meeting with super about my cold radiators, I didn't have a lot of time. It was 9PM, so I decided to do an ARX, since I hadn't done one yet this week. I didn't wear my sneakers, the exercises seemed so much easier! Anyway, that's all I did. Depending on what time I get home tonight from the dinner we've been invited to, maybe I can squeeze something in. Wednesday morning I will do L&B.

Re:Round 2 Week 1 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 4
I like doing Ab Ripper X, Yoga, Kenpo, and Plyo barefoot. Call it a martial arts thing, but it just feels better to me.

I'm fortunate to have a 10' x 10' matted workout area in my basement and I really enjoy taking off the shoes for these workouts. I put on the shoes for any weight lifting workouts to decrease the risk of injury.

It's fun in your bare feet if you haven't tried it!!

Day 7-11 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
I did manage to squeeze in L&B on Christmas Eve, I had the day off. I was able to do 1 unassisted chinup during each round! That made me very excited on C&B day, but I guess because of the pushups and bicep involvement, I couldn't do any unassisted ones, but I did increase my assisted reps from Week 1.

So week 2 I doubled up my workouts on the weekend to catch up, I did C&B & ARX & Kenpo on Saturday, then Plyo and S&A on Sunday. Once again I forgot to print out my spreadsheet at work, so I had to guess my way through S&A, but I guessed up and did well, went up to 15lb on some of the bicep exercises, and only used 5lb once. Tonight I will do ARX first (which I didn't do yesterday), and then will do Yoga. I usually don't do some or any of Yoga Belly 7, so I think that will work out OK. Tomorrow is L&B, and then Wednesday is X Stretch.

The scale is being very kind! I did not go crazy on the food, plus with all the muscle I now have, my metabolism is faster I guess, so I am not packing on fat. Even though I didn't do some of the routines in Week 1, I am sticking with my schedule. I can at least throw in an extra X Stretch maybe next week. When I am home on weekends, doubling up is not too stressful, as long as I pick the right routines to combine.

Day 12 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
First I did ARX last night. Please, people, listen to what Tony says about the ab routines, don't tune him out like I did and try to do 2x as many reps! First it was the Cross-legged situps, where each side was 1 rep, I was doing left and right as one rep. Last night, I realized that each V-rollup combo was 2 reps, one for the situp part, one for the V-up part. DOH! Well, now ARX seems easier at least, and I can almost keep up with them now, since I'm not stupidly trying to do 50 extra reps.

After ARX I did Yoga. I almost quit, because my arms were tired when I did upward dog, but then I decided, just do cobra and continue! So I did. I had to get out of some of the positions a little early, my lungs are congested, but I did everything except Yoga Belly 7. Still can't do crane, maybe one day.

I am going out to dinner tonight, so I will try to do X Stretch instead, the L&B tomorrow.

I am working 11-7 on Thursday, not sure what I will accomplish, that may be a rest day, then double up again on the weekend.

Day 14 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
I was able to squeeze in L&B, with a few of the leg exercises skipped over. I skipped the sneaky lunges, the toe-row iso lunges and the Groucho Walk. I had 1 chin-up unassisted, and increased my assisted pullup reps from 77 to 86 total.

I am going to do ARX and X Stretch tonight. This weekend I will have to double up at least 1 day, then I will be all caught up. C&B tomorrow, then Plyo & Yoga on Saturday, then S&A on Sunday morning.

Day 15-18 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
I'm still behind one day, I wasn't able to double up this weekend.

Friday was C&B. I increased my reps in all pushups, from total of 60 to 74 on toes. I still can't get an unassisted pullup on C&B day, but increased reps again in assisted pullups.

Saturday Plyo. Another good workout.

Sunday S&A. Improved some of my reps/weights. My left side is getting stronger in the side tris (I'm up to 13). I'm keeping up with Dreya in chair dips (20) and side tris (20 on the right). I've decided not to increase my weights in upright rows, as Dreya is not lifting more than 10-12, so I am staying at 10lb. Yoga tonight! I am behind an ARX, I'll try to do that tomorrow morning, and L&B in the evening. I will probably do Kenpo and X Stretch on Wednesday, then is recovery week.

Day 19 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
Completed Yoga last night, did some of the Yoga Belly 7. Did ARX that I had left out this weekend this morning. Still can't do crane. Sigh. Still have L&B, ARX, Kenpo & X Stretch to do today & tomorrow. I will do L&B today, everything else tomorrow when I have time...

Day 20 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
Legs & Back last night. I increased my pullup reps again, and I tried to pull myself up a little higher over the bar each time. With the chair being farther away, I'm not sure I'm getting the best angle on my arms and back, but I am lifting more of my body weight. I should try the Dreya method with the straight leg and only the toe on the chair, but she is much stronger than I am.

Re:Day 20 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Still plowing through the workouts I see. Second round going good.

I don't mean to bother you but I saw that you are using Creatine in your recovery drink. Exactly how are you taking it. I was going to take 5 grams with water, an apple or pear and a Protien bar an hour before my workout on the resistance days and take it after my cardio workouts. What have you heard or read about it.

I know nobody has the same opinion on if, how or when to take it. I have read with juice, no juice, juice but not citrus, with protien, no protien. I do know that it can dehydrate you if you don't drink enough fluids and that your body will just turn it into waste if it is not used or taken improperly.

I was just curious on what made you decide to use it.

Thanks for your time.

Re:Day 20 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
I just use it to replicate Tony's recovery drink, I take 1/8 tsp which I think adds up to 625mg. The Beachbody recover drink has 500mg. My egg-white protein drink had no carbs or creatine, so I add the creatine, and then have my toast & jam for the carbs. I did check to see if women athletes use it, and they do too, but other than that, I have no more info for you, sorry!

BTW, are you doing Phase I nutrition again, or doing Phase II for the entire time?

Re:Day 20 Round 2 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 0
Thanks for your time! I use the Phase III nutrition I guess. I have kept the red potatoes, oatmeal pancakes, Whole Wheat Breads, cereals and waffles. I also eat more protien than Phase III recomends. I kind of leveled off weight wise but the gut is still getting smaller. I have noticed that I am starting to bonk out at the end of some of my workouts. I have been getting alot of flak about reduced size. Personally I would like to put on some muscle.

thanks again

Day 20-21 Kenpo & X Stretch & Core Syn (!) 1 Year, 2 Months ago Karma: 6
I spent most of Wednesday working out for what seemed like a billion hours. I made the mistake of making a call to a governmental agency that took 45 min, so I didn't even start my Kenpo until 8PM. I skipped some of the stretches at the end, because I knew I would be doing X Stretch later.

After that I did ARX. I was running out of time, so I skipped a few moves. On to X Stretch. Here I also was a little selective, I skipped a few stretches I'd done in Kenpo. So somehow I squeezed 2.5 hrs of workouts into about 2 hrs, including all the interruptions I had from my kids.

Last night I got home extra early, so I was able to squeeze in Core Syn before a mtg I had to go to at 7, so again I skipped a few moves, plus the Dreya Roll and Bonus section. I really needed to have a little time to relax after the mtg, which I had to walk to and back from anyway, a little extra cardio there! I was able to maintain or stay close to my stats from Week 13 of Round 1.

Banana Roll I was able to keep my legs straight for two bananas instead of just 1 previously.

In Prison Cell Pushup, I decided to do the middle pushups to save time. I usually step into and out of the movement, instead of jump, which takes more time. I only did 5, but that's 15 pushups.

Last 2 nights, I ate less than recently, I'm noticing an improvement in the stomach area. Also finally getting past my dairy/wheat side effects, until the next time I partake...

Yoga X today!
