Hello Everyone.

Week 4 Day 4 X Stretch

Looking forward to tomorrow's Core Synergistics. It was a real blast on Tuesday. So many different moves and non stop action. Diet is going good. Just keeping it simple nothing fancy, if it takes more than 10 minutes to make forget it. Grill a whole bag of chicken breasts for the week, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Fat Free Ranch. Every once in a while a couple of veggi burgers. the only thing that I really change up is what type of Jam is use on my W.W. English muffin.

I'm not big on spending time on making food. Barely have enough time to work out as it is. I started on 9/1 and haven't cheated or missed a workout. 198 to currently 185. Just keep getting thinner, stronger and more flexable.

Ken

P.S. They should call it HARDCORE Synergistics!

Hello Everybody

Week 4 Day 6 Yoga X

I think I've lost more weight this week than any other so far. Tomorrow X Stretch then Phase II begins. I slipped into a pair of Loose 34's for the first time in about 3 years. It felt really good!
I could even button up my size 38 work pants 7 weeks ago. I'm swimming in them now. Guys at work are really asking alot of questions about this program. Is it hard? yes! How long? An hour a day. What do you eat? Only good foods!

We have a vending machines at work, pop (soda as most of you call it) is 25 cents and all of the snacks are 50 cents. I always was looking for change in my tool box. Donuts well we won't go there. Let's just say there is enough temptation. Every friday we order out and I still call in the lunch order for everyone. They even offer to buy it for me.

I don't know why I'm blabbing on. Let's just say that my life and habits are getting overhauled.

Can't wait for Phase II. I'm ready! I might even slip in some Core Synergistics on the side.

Not sure who all is viewing these posts. I know only those who reply Skinny man and big poppa.

Thanks guys

Ken

Hey Ken,

Man, you are doing awesome...I bet it's a damn good feeling to get into that pant size. And you know the program is working 'cause everyone at work is noticing. That should be plenty of motivation to keep it rolling.

No problem, Ken. It only really only takes couple of people to motivate one another. Keep it up...two more weeks and I'll be at Phase II...can't wait.

Week 5 Day 7

This past week has been rough due to my Grandfathers passing. I haven't had much time to log in. I had to "step" off of the diet wagon a couple of days being that I was away during the evenings. But I was able to do all of the workouts which I moved to the mornings. My arms are still a little tender. I didn't like the morning workouts as much.
I had a hard time getting warmed up. I could feel my performance was low.

I don't know how some of you do it. I guess some people were made for mornings. With 2 kids and a wife that works I am not one of them.

Today is stretch day along with some running. Tomorrow should be the start of a better week. I noticed that I have gained a couple of pounds and I'm not sure that brnging more carbs back into my diet is the way to go. This gut has got to go! I'm sure that it is most likely muscle gain that i am seeing because my pants are getting looser every week.

I hate the Scale.

Have a nice day

Hey Ken,

Sorry to hear about your loss. Good on you to actually get back into it.

Working out in the morning IS TOUGH. I only do it three times a week (Mon, Wed, & Fri). The other days I work out in the evening (Plyo and Yoga). The weight is just that, more muscle. I think I've gain about 3 pounds as well and have incorporated more carbs into my diet since week 2.

Keep up the good work.

Rippin5150 - Good job man ! I am one of those who reads up your posts... =P

Keeps me motivated in my own programm. I am only in week 2 of the P90X but have lost 7 pounds already. With regard to the carbs thing... some people say you can stay on the fat shredder for the second phase to loose more. Just make sure that if you notice you don't have the energy to eat some carbs, it is all easily adjustable eat a piece of bread or something =P

Keep it up!

Sorry to hear about your grandfather.

I also do evening workouts, but had to do an AM workout on Saturday because I worked 1-9. I really don't like doing it in the morning at all!

I also have put on a few pounds (I went up to 143 from 140), but the mirror and clothes tell me that I am losing fat, and gaining muscle, so I'm not going to get too upset.

Tony does say that each individual has to decide how long to be in each phase, so long as you are listening to whether your body needs more energy.

Thanks Guys and Gals

Week 6 day 1
Chest, Shoulders and Tri's

I tell you what if your arms don't feel like boulders after this workout something is wrong! If you want Pipes tri's is where it's at.

As far as the Carbs go I am going to cut back. My energy level was good in Phase one. I don't feel exhausted and I'm still putting up more weights than every previous session.

Thankyou for your sympathy. My Grandfather was a great man and lived a hard but good life. I can only hope to be half the man that he was.

I'm back on track. Who said Plyo? Bring it!

Week 6 Day 4

Yoga X

The towel over the mat is working quite well. No more sliding around. Still not able do do all of the moves. Like the Human Pretzel with the hands clasped under your leg and behind the back. Did abount 20 to 25 seconds of Crane. That is a real wrist tweaker. I was able to get myself into wheel for about 15 seconds for the first time. That kind of freaked out my daughter. She asked me "Daddy why is your head turning red?"

Just about half way now a couple more days to go. I decided to keep my diet the same as Phase I. The gut has got to go.

Ken,

You are like 10 days ahead of me, which is cool 'cause it allows me to learn from your experiences.

BTW, you are HALF WAY DONE!!!! Congratulations.

I do have one question for you, I don't feel like i get a great workout from Kenpo, and I'm intense the entire time. I might start going our for like a three mile jog instead. Your thoughts?

Re:rippin5150's Daily Log 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey Skinny good to here from you.
About Kenpo. I was kind of feeling the same way. So this past Saturday I tried something different. I used 3Lb weights during all of the punch combos. Keep your elbows bent and keep the hooks and upper cuts tight. Think core. On the jabs and crosses do not fully extend your arm keep it slightly bent and throw a 3/4 punch. I did not use the weights for any of the drag punches. Keep your hands up and please don't punch yourself in the face. That would be bad. I was going to run after but it didn't get to work out till 10:30 PM. So I ran 4 miles in 50 minutes, after X Stretch on Sunday.

I had to buy a belt so I could keep my work pants up. Went from very tight 38's to 36's and now starting into 34's. When people ask me if I am losing weight? I tell them "No I am just buying bigger clothes."
It gets a chuckle out of some people.

Next week will be my second of three recovery weeks. This program is amazing. I am just thankful that I have a very understanding wife. With us both working and Two kids 7 and 2. It can be very hard to keep up with everything and everyone.

Speaking of everyone it's time for my boy's bath.

Keep it up skinny!

Ken

Congratulations on your shrinking size. When I shopped for workout clothes, I bought two sizes of workout gear, snug and too small. Now they are comfortable and snug! So true about the "weight loss".

Good tip on the small weights with Kenpo. I might try that soon.

Thanks Ken, I will probably go to wal-mart and buy some of those hand/wrist & ankle weights and see if that helps, if not then I'll definitely see how the running works out for me...its something i have to improve upon anyways.

Man, I give you much props for sticking with this program with a family (especially you children). I'm single so i have very little to worry about. But the loose clothes must give you all the motivation you need to continue. Enjoy the recovery week!

Re:rippin5150's Daily Log 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Thanks Guys and Gals,

About 5 Years I lost alot of weight using a certian Southern Beach diet, light weight training and running. Then I fell off of the wagon in a bad way. Changed jobs worked a ton of overtime and ate whatever and whenever I wanted.

One of my biggest flaws is that I have a tough time finding balance after my weight loss. It's hard core, all out diet and exercise or nothing. I do plan on doing P90X well after my 90 days are up. But an hour a day will not last for the rest of my life. Right now my days are Work and work out and thats fine for now. I have worked Zero O.T. scince I started the program. I'm Three weeks into hunting season and I haven't been out once all due to P90.

I have thought about the 10 min trainer. But to me that seems like graduating from college and then going back to pre school.

I need to find Balance!

Sorry to be beating your ears. Or I mean eyes. I'm just looking forward and trying not to repeat the past.

Good Night All

Ken

Hey they approved the Punisher. That's cool

Just finished up Legs and Back and ARX. Pull-ups are really getting better. Able to do 14 with no chair through out the work out. In week one I could only do 3. I started with the bands but since the second week I have been using the chair. Using the chair I feel works better for strength. Your leg helps your arms and back work through the weaker spots of the motion. Kind of like when weight lifters do bench presses and only push the bar half of the way up. It's that mid point in the lift (or pull-up) where you are most likely to be the weakest.

A chain is only as strong as its weakest link.

I can't wait for Phase III!

Week 8 Day 4

Recovery Week X Stretch

I was off work today for a dotcors appointment for my son. So I decided to try something different. First thing this morning I threw in Cardio X. After which I did ARX. That was a good work out, I liked Cardio X. In the begining I wasn't sure that it was going to be Intense enough. But then I realized there were no breaks and the pace was really fast. It is a nice blend. This evening I ended up still doing X Stretch. I don't want to skip anything. My body is changing as well as my state of mind. I am turning 35 this weekend and I don't think I have been this fit scince I was 17.

I don't think of P90X as something to turn back the clock. I feel it's more about getting the clock wound back up so it's ready for the years to come.

Re:rippin5150's Daily Log 1 Month, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Day 60

X Stretch followed up with a 5 mile run.

Today I turned 35. No party, cake or ice cream here. My family did not know what to do. We are all big cake fans. My parents came over for a surprise visit. But they were the ones surprised when they saw me with my shirt off and getting ready to take some pictures. Of course mom thinks that I am too skinny. This has been the best birthday since I got Star Wars Toys.

Getting into Size 34 Levi's 501's. What more could I ask for. These pants have been in my closet for 6 years. Because I knew that someday I could once again wear them.

I guess I have been cheating a little by running. But I feel I need that extra burn. I have been sticking with the Phase One diet approach. Only added a little extra Carbs once in a while (slice of bread here and there. I am going to up my fruit intake a little during Phase Three.

I do plan on doing Phase 4,5,6,7,8 Etc............

I posted some Day 60 Pics.

Bring on Day 61!!!!!!!!!!!! I am ready!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ken
