Thanks to a buddy of mine on another board, day 5 is in the books. When I told him I copped out on Yoga and was considering pushing legs back, he basically told me I was copping out. And that really made me mad! It revved me up and I decided to push play and push through all the soreness and all the excuses. It was my best workout of the week by far.

Keep going guys, you are so much stronger than you think. BRING IT!

Day 5...IN THE BOOKS!

I did the Yoga! Who would have thought you could sweat like that! Some of it was a little harder----had trouble keeping legs straight, but figured with time I could do it. The stretching seemed to help too. Day 4 down!

Just finished the legs/back workout. Everything seemed doable, except for the wall sits which were quite challenging. I only did those for a short amount of time until I was about to fall over.

Also, I am starting to just do crunches for ab ripper x. The stuff they are doing in there I am definitely not in shape for yet. I feel that the crunches are definitely helping though.

Not too sore overall right now, but looking forward to seeing how I do tomorrow. Also have a dinner out tonight, planning on a steak + baked potato and skipping any appetizers or anything like that. Hope it doesn't have too much hidden fat.

Ha! I had someone on these boards basically say the same thing to me about week 1 yoga. The yoga and stretching days are soooo important. Keep pushing it. It gets better next week!

Okay, day 6 done. I gotta say, I really enjoyed Kenpo X. I usually shy away from any martial arts/kicking boxing type of cardio, because I think it's a bit of an insult to martial arts. Dont know why i'm weird like that. Dont ask me, I'm told I have OCD. I personally think I have CDO, so all the letters are in the right order

But anyway, i didn't feel like it was astronomically hard or anything, but I did catch myself taking a number of mini breaks. I also drank more water than I did w/ plyo, but that could be because I was taking mini breaks and had 2 or 3 seconds to take the drink. All in all it was hard, but I could've done another session if I had to. I was relieved when it was over, and all in all, I'm happy.

I will be honest and say I didn't do the break exercises (the running in place, jump rope, jumping jacks and X jumps) I did some, but I used the breaks to actually break. Maybe that's why i felt I could keep going. I also dont have a heart monitor (no way I'm paying $100 for one of those things) so i'm not sure if i coulda pushed myself more. I was sweating crazy like for sure.

Perhaps when I'm done w/ the shin splints, I'd replace Kenpo with a few mile run. Not because Kenpo isn't a good workout, It's just the only one I could see that I could easily replace, where as plyo and yoga help the body in other ways, other than cardiovascular wise

Kenpo X down. Tough workout cardio wise. I had a hard time keeping up the whole time, but breathing that hard and sweating that much has to be good.

Kind of slacking off on the diet in the sense that I am not perfectly timing my eating and probably not eating enough protein for my nutrition level (3).

Looking forward to rest day tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is doing well.

Hey guys!
I fell down some stairs, and hit my tailbone. It is feeling better today, but I can't lay back on it. I haven't done legs and back yet, because I don't want to aggravate my tailbone. Should I do kenpo and skip the legs and back? Or just wait a bit and start over. I read that if you miss 2 days you should start the week over. BTW, I started on the 30th, so I am behind you guys by a day---and I didn't do anything yesterday (which would have been the legs and back) because of my tailbone injury. I was putting ice on it off and on.

Happpy belated 4th!!

I am sorry to hear that. I would recommend that if you are injured and have to start modifying the workout that you recover and then jump back in at full steam. Do what you can...but I feel it is smart for you to get well first.

Well, today is day 7, and i decided to skip X Stretch all together. "Why?" you ask?
Cuz I pwned Cardio X. I am so please with how fresh Cardio X is and how it keep everything moving very fast, very fun, with a good mix of several different exercises. I really enjoy yoga thus far, but I get really bored with it, and i was happy to see only a few yoga poses, just enough to get my heart rate going but also keep me interested in it and wanting more.

Kenpo was the same thing. Just enough to be fun and then moving on. All in all, very pleased with Cardio X and happy that i didn't take today off

I haven't done anything yet today. Was planning to do Stretch X, but I think I am just going to skip it and take a whole day off from Mr. Horton.

I am physically TIRED and very sore. I actually took a nap today and I think it must have something to do with all the working out I did this week. Not really looking forward to week 2, but now that I know what's in store I think it will be better then week 1 overall!

Hope you guys are all doing well also with it.

Good job everyone. Week 2 begins! I am off for the next 2 days so not rushing to get in the workouts, but want to try and get them in before it gets too hot out for the day.

Is anyone seeing any dramatic weightloss or results so far? I am down about 3-4 lbs it looks like, but I think my muscles are already getting a little more definition and I think the crunches are already helping. I won't bother with any official measurements until day 30, but I wanted to see if any of you others are seeing some results.

Up one pound which is frustrating but my diet could be better. Always unsure of accuracy on my measurments but 1 1/2 inches off hips and 1" on waist. This seems to hold true since my belt has gone up another notch but still would like to see some weight loss.

I am down 3 pounds for the week and I cheated on the 4th of July at a BBQ. This week should be a good one, The soreness is gone and I know the workouts and what is coming up. I should be able to push it a little further and BRING IT on all the workouts. Good luck to everyone on Week 2!

Re:Log for those of us starting on 6/29/09 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I am down 4 lbs from 186 when I started p90x a week ago, to 182. (I was 210 when i started my own routine, 2 months before that) I'm not even attempting the P90x diet plan. I think it's ludicrous to tell people to eat upwards of 2300 calores (3000 calories for Tier 3?!?!?) No thanks.

I know you need the energy to get through it, but...I'm doing just fine on 1400 calories. I crash slightly at the end of the day, which is a good thing, cuz it's time for fricken bed anyhow.

Re:Log for those of us starting on 6/29/09 8 Months ago Karma: 0
I am down about 4 lbs from 335 to 331. I haven't been sticking to the crazy protein intake diet plan either and instead am just eating healthy stuff. Lots of protein bars, turkey sandwhichs and egg white / turkey bacon wraps. I don't know if you guys have tried or checked out Greek yogurt, but it has a lot more protein than regular yogurt and is pretty good with some fruit mixed in (not a bad cottage cheese alternative).

I haven't taken any official measurements since it's only been a week, but I feel like I am starting to get a little more definition around my muscles. Haven't felt this sore since HS football, so I think it's working so far!

Hoping to see more weight drop off as I continue.

Oy... Hitting a bit of a road block here, but hoping I can stick with it. I missed Kenpo X last week, and I'm busy with stuff today... I hope I can find the time/motivation to get my workout in. Maybe I'll do it with a friend later today, if I find the time.

Week 1 was tough, here's hoping to a better Week 2.
