dnbrdy-
I wouldn't worry too much about the occasional subway run as long as your making a sensible choice. I'm primarily aiming to hit certain numbers: calories, calories from protein, carbs, fat.
If these numbers are in the ballpark of what the nutrition plan recommends, you'll be fine. If you're unhappy with your results by day 30, I'd consider being more strict.

Day 3 in the bag!!
I completed the Shoulders and Arms exercises, having to down the weights for the flys (to about 10lbs, but that did it for me-- I was burning up). I didn't wait and went straight through the Ab Ripper X workout right after.
I dunno about y'all, but I am still aching from plyometrics-- I mean, it just keeps my legs from lifting a foot in the air. Hopefully this means I put in 100% and will get good results later.
I did some extra downward-dog stretches after the ab ripper, that definitely helped my abs... so maybe Yoga X will help with the plyo soreness... though I hope it's not a nightmare as the previous dude suggested!!
As for diet: pretty good day! I wish I could say I was keeping track of my calories, but I'm sticking to good portions and eliminating fatty foods for phase 1. My recovery shake is this Cytogain formula, 97% fat free, lots of protein. 4 scoops (1 serving) is 570 calories, so I use only 3 scoops after a workout. Ever since I started tracking my diet, I think I err on the side of undereating, so hopefully that shake (just water + formula) is all right.
Gotta admit-- today took a lot of mental strength to start the exercises because of the plyo soreness, but then I youtube'd the success stories from average joes across the world-- i'm blown away. I even saw a guy with my body type, who showed his before, during, and after photos, and I thought "I want THAT!"
Halfway point-- let's bring it.

Today was a trainwreck for me P90x wise (so far...in the Tony Horton voice..."you are doing great....so far" . I got a late start on the Yoga X and only did about half of it and the half I did was very slacky because the positions are quite hard for me.
I am planning to either do more of it later and/or just plan not to do it in the morning next week since its so long and give it 100% next week.
Good luck to everyone else on it today and be prepared to get into some crazy positions.

dnbrdy, I do my yoga tonight. It should be interesting. On a side note from your earlier post. There is a youtube video that shows how to use a roll of duct tape to put the bands over the door. I'm at work but I have it linked on my blog at http://ohioweightloss.blogspot.com. Just remember to lock your door lol, don't want your kids or wife opening the door in the middle of a resistance band pull up rep.

I did Arms & Shoulders last night. Wasn't all that impressed. I guess the intensity was there, but I think they're coulda been alot more of a gut check. I rolled right into Ab Ripper X and was able to do more this time than on day 1, however, my legs are SOOOOO sore from Plyo, that I still couldn't do half of the exercises.
Seriously, today, 2 days after Plyo, I am more sore than i have EVER been in my entire life. That is NO JOKE.

I'm beyond frustrated right now. My legs are just too sore to do the yoga. I attempted, but I just can't do anything. Tony goes too fast for me to even attempt to slowly get my legs into the position before they're 2 positions ahead of me. I'm just skipping it this week.
The way my legs feel, (i cannot even walk atm) its not looking so good for legs/back tomorrow. My frustration level at this point is seriously enough to make anyone quit. I can't even express it

Just do what you can. I'm 357 lbs. I quickly was unable to do all the plank and downward, upward dog crap. I modified and got into the runner poses to match them and went from there. I thought I would run on the treadmill when I was done but not after that lol. Important thing is to keep doing what you can. If your sore at the end, it's got to be doing something

Loogie, I hear you! I had a hard time walking all day Tuesday and most of yesterday as well. I would rest up and maybe try stretching some as much as you can. I will say that when I woke up today I felt noticeably less sore and I think doing half (I only did 45 min or so...and I sucked the whole time, basically just doing what I could and much slower than the people on the video) really helped my soreness overall. See how you feel in the AM before you concede the legs and back already!
I know it sounds lame, but keep pushing play and going through the motions. Even if you are sucking, I think it helps to get into the routine that you are going to be doing for the next 86 days.
You might also want to consider a protein shake. I haven't even had one yet even though I bought a giant bag last week. I know when I used to work out a lot and was REALLY sore, that always made me feel a bit better.

thanks for the motivation guys. I'm not giving up at all. Worst case is tomorrow, if i feel like crap, I'll just goto ab ripper, even though that has alot of exercises that use the quads too.
it seriously hurts to even adjust my feet under my desk

In the name of honesty, I bailed on Yoga today. I started it and I just couldn't get myself in the frame of mind to do it. Instead I went to the gym and played three games of full-court basketball. I do feel slightly guilty, but what can I say? I just couldn't stay in my room today...I wanted to get out and compete.
Legs is looking pretty questionable for me as well, as I am quite sore from plyo too. But I'm going to push through it. In the past I wouldn't touch a muscle group until all the soreness is gone. Now everyone's body is different, but I don't neccessarily think soreness means you can't go. Remember, you get a two day break from resistance training after this and a 3 day break from legs. If you can't do it, I would suggest just swapping Kenpo and Legs.
So ányway, I didn't quite stay on the program but I ate well and got a good cardio workout, Í'm not afraid to say: Day 4 is in the books!

Good job everyone. It's great to see all everyone going through and experiencing the same stuff I am!
I think the eating is the hardest part for me so far. I can't seem to get myself to stomach down all the meat / poultry without carbs as well. I was going to try and only have 1 wheat tortilla wrap today with breakfast (8 egg whites + turkey bacon + FF cheese on wrap), but I decided to eat my 2 turkey burgers for dinner on wheat bread instead of just plain. Feeling kind of bummed about it, but what can you do. I need to try and find some non-carb, carb like things to eat with all the protein.

Today yoga was kinda sucky since i'm so out of shape. I did the best I could but did arx afterwards to get a good burn going. Dietwise just go on YouTube and search p90x meals and such. I've found some pretty good stuff on there. There is a guy whose profile is herbertriggs on there. Just search his name and you'll find it. My wife googled love calorie chicken and found a super yummy baked parmasean chicken recipe that is really good even without the parmasean. I can put the recipe up if you want!

Yeah.. same here with the belly getting in the way. I was wondering if I could do something with kettleballs or something else. My rule is if it is slightly uncomfortable try it, if it looks too uncomfortable, keep moving doing something similar.

I started on the 29th as well. Is everyone as sore as I am? My legs hurt and I am hobbling around like an old woman. Stairs are hard. I also have trouble bending my arms. Please tell me others are having this problem too? Any suggestions?

Yes, very sore. Keep going, it will get better. Not sure what your story is but if your not used to pushing this hard it will take at least a couple weeks to get used to it. At least thats always been my experience when freshly starting a workout program. But this by far has been the hardest and sorest and only 4 days in

Glad to hear others are sore too. I am not going to give up though. My husband is working out with me as well, but he is in a little better shape, so he is not as sore as me. At least, he is not hobbling around. I'm glad I found this forum---just reading the posts gives me more motivation-----and at least I know I am not the only one going through this. I am tackling Yoga this afternoon.....hope I can manage!!

Man oh man. I am scuffling. I have been very active, but I've kinda strayed from the program a little. I think I'm going to do kenpo today and legs tomorrow. I'm just too sore to give it a real go. My arms feel great. I'm eating well. I'm already noticing some changes going on.
Keep at it guys!

Dude I could not move the next couple of days after Plyo! I was exactly like you were, but today's much better. I suggest giving it some rest-- it should be easier next time, and PLENTY of stretching before you sleep and when you wake up helped me tons! Make sure you get your quads, hams, and abs stretched-- those were the worst for me.

Also in the name of honesty-- I couldn't bring myself to do Yoga yesterday. For one, I had a couple of DVD problems that I fixed but then it was too late and I wanted to sleep, but also because I was so sore. I'm going to go do it after lunch and then finish up with some Legs and Back-- and if I'm feelin like an animal, the Ab Ripper as well
Legs are feeling much better now, so it's time to get my Yoga on.
Diet: Been trying to get tasty, low carb, low fat diet going strictly-- in my household it's a bit tough to manage, but I'm doing my best. Egg whites in a carton are great for breakfast every morning with hot peppers, onions, mushrooms, pepper, served with green tea.
It's great reading about everyone's progress, keep it up, I'm inspired!!

ok my legs weren't nearly as bad this morning, but still very sore. I work up, did 40 min of yoga. I woulda kept going, but i lost all interest after 40 min, when i looked and saw i still had 50 min left
Oh well, i skipped all leg exercises of legs/back and did some good pull ups and back stuff, then finished up with ab ripper. I'm not afraid to say that day 4 AND day 5 are in the books..well..the modified books anyway.
