Deadside00's Daily Log 2 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Started day 1 for me. Chest/back and AB ripper. I did ok, I guess. Obviously, I didn't expect to keep up with the videos, but at least I went through the whole video, so that's good. Pull ups I totally suck at now. I'm lucky if I only do half of one.

About half way through, I started to feel a bit nauseated. I dunno if it's because I ate few hours before, or if I had the overhead fan on while I was sweating. It was on low tho, but i turned it off. Also had the window open, because it was a cool night tonight. Also I was kind of going in circles from bending over to get weights to walking to the other side of the room to record my sets, to grabbing a chair. I guess it was just a bit of everything. I have to get a little more organized.

I feel the only downside for me was that I did 0 diamond push ups and 0 dive bomb push ups. I tried doing them, I just couldn't pick myself up. Short story short, I finished the set.

A couple of times I told myself, "Why the hell am I even doing this? I got 89 more days of this hell." But I sucked it up and kept going. I brung it! Haha, yeah I know that's not a word.

1 day down, 89 more to go!

Dude - welcome to the board.

Remember that you can modify any move you can't do. If you can't do a diamond push-up, spread your hands out a couple of inches. To quote the man.... "Don't be a hero."

Keep pushing play and when you can do several of them next month you'll know how far you've come.

Hey, i just finished day one as well...congratulations to you! I got no shame admitting that i did some diamond push-ups on the knees during the second half. It's better to do some assisted rather than none at all. Taking a shower tomorrow should be real interesting.

Before I begin, I would just like to thank to everyone that takes the time to read and respond.

Day 2 - Plyometrics -

Completely forgot about doing the daily log last night, got too busy rooting for the Cowboys on Monday Night Football!!

About 15 minutes into the video I hated this workout, I kept looking at the timer and thinking to my self, "I have another 40 minutes of this??" By the time the vid was over and I was dripping with sweat, I completely LOVED this routine.

20-25 minutes in, I hit the wall, I never really kept up or was doing as much as what was being done in the vid, but I never expected to do that in the first place. I was going at my own pace but keeping the intensity up, never slacking it. When the jumping jack squats came up, I was just about ready to clock out and call it a day, haha. I did 3 good ones then I just fell on my butt. I picked myself up and continued on.

By the end of the video I was exhausted and dripping with sweat. I never stopped the video once to take longer breaks or anything like that, so I'm proud of myself for that.

When I was done, yeah I was tired, but at the same time I felt I was full of energy that I just needed to get out. I was kind of pumped the rest of the night. When it was time for bed though, I just couldn't get comfortable, my body was starting to get sore and I could feel the aches in my legs.

When I woke up today, my legs were SORE. Mainly my upper thighs, I just can't stand as straight and I'm walking a little funny. I'm looking forward to day 3 right now. My shoulders are still a little sore from day 1, but I'm not going to let that slow me down. I'm not going to slack it. No excuses.

2 days down, 88 more to go!

That's the spirit!!! Way to stick it out!!

If I could only do one video it would be Plyo. You get cardio., a great legs workout, and all the benefits of "jump" training all rolled into one!!

Keep bringin' it!!

Day 3 -Shoulders and Arms, AB Ripper X-

Writing this again on the day after. Just didn't feel like sitting down at a computer when I finished.

It took me 2 hours to do this. I hate that. Always going back and forth writing, changing weights, pausing video to do a decent amount at my own pace, rewinding to see if I really am doing it right. I hated it! No wonder I like Plyometrics better, I was always moving on that one.

Not much to say here. Since I'm going the muscle building route, I did 10 reps, struggling at the last 3, with the right amount of weight. I didn't feel real proud of myself this time because on most if not all the the exercises I just didn't have the correct form, and that bothered me. But then again, I've never really lifted weights before, so this was all new to me.

Oh well. Looking forward to doing yoga.

Oh, baby, do I remember my first run through that monster!

Couldn't even brush my teeth after that dude. Totally bombed my arms!!

I wouldn't be too concerned about the time involved at this point. I know...two hours for a workout is a long time. Maybe too long for almost all of us.

But it WILL get better! As the weeks roll by, you'll pause less and less. And you'll be more productive during the workout. And the endurance will come. And your muscles will pop. At the end you'll realize that YOU can do this workout!!!

Form takes time but it will come. It's your first time doing this workout. The next time you'll do better.

Hang in there...Sparta wasn't built in a day!!

Sparta better have been built in 90 days! Haha....Anyhoo...

Day 4 -Yoga-

Well I'm not tired. That's good. I finished a couple of hours ago. I like this one, I think it really is because I'm always moving. I think I only stopped the video a couple of times to make sure I was doing some of the more awkward poses right. I think I'll be doing this one a lot. I want to be more limber and flexible. I want to do the wheel!

Another thing I liked about this was that it really stretched out those muscles that have been sore the past couple of days. Just my thighs are still sore, and I'm walking a little less funny. I was a little amazed on how far I could already stretch when I really pushed myself. I wasn't touching the ground or shooting out far, or anything like that, but I thought wouldn't do as good as I did.

Tomorrow is legs and back...That doesn't sound so good considering my legs are still sore. Gotta just bring it!

I will definitely wait to see how we are doing tomorrow, lol. Good thing this is on Friday so I'm walking like I got stick shoved my rear all day at work...that would be awkward.

Re:Deadside00's Daily Log 2 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Haha, before I did the legs and back today, my legs were feeling ok. A little tight in the thighs, but it made me feel better knowing that it wouldn't hurt as much whn i started legs and back... Boy was I wrong when I finished it.

Day 5 -Legs and Back, Ab Ripper X-

The legs were tougher than I thought. I didn't expect anything easy, but I thought I would have kept up a little better. It still took me around 2 hours to do everything, but I took a little bit of a different approach from the other vids. Before I would watch to see how things are done and then do them when I couldn't do it anymore, or what I thought of what I couldn't do anymore, like if it was said to do 25, i ended up doing only 13, or whatever, cuz I thought I couldn't do anymore. This time, I did as much as i could took a little break and then did the whole 25. Just forced myself, or willed myself or whatever it is to do the whole thing. Obviously that slowed me down, but I felt better after words knowing that I did it.

Kenpo is up next. Looking forward to that one.

On days when you have time it's really satisfying to push pause and really do all the reps.

keep it up and keep us posted. Big Papa

Re:Deadside00's Daily Log 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Hey everyone, I'm still around! No I didn't quit or give up. No offense I just didn't want to give a daily update of how things went for me on that day. I figured I'd just do an update every couple of days, but turned out to be every 3 weeks, haha.

I'll try to keep this more updated, because I know others enjoy reading these because it helps keep them motivated, and I read others too, because they keep me motivated too.

I finished 30 days today. Unfortunately, I kinda slacked it on my recovery week, I never did yoga this week, but I did everything else. Core was awesome, I like it. I just need to stick with yoga. I updated my Gallery with new pics of my workout. Just Day 1 and 30 there. Click on my username to go to my profile and click the gallery section.

I did the P90X just to gain some strength and to be healthy. I don't think I need to lose any fat, haha. I do notice the difference in my arms and my back. Just little changes, but still changes. I've noticed my stomach area has changed too, but it's hard to see in those pics I guess I just need to do more poses for abs and stuff.

The only thing I really hate myself for not doing is making a nutrition plan. I'm basically eating as I did before I started this. I never really ate a lot of junk, but I did eat some, and I'm still doing it. I really want to kick up the protein intake.

Oh well, you guys take care. See you in Sparta!

Welcome back man...those results aren't "little", definite change in the biceps and back. Just imagine what it'll be like at the end of 60, and then 90 days...OH YES!!!

I just started Phase II today, what fun.
