Hello everyone, my name is James, and I recently bought P90x. I used to throw shot put and discus at Troy University. I bought P90x to get back in shape. I got it in on Friday the 12 and coudlnt wait to start on Monday. I started the 12th, and I wanted to give everyone an update on my last 3 days.
Day 1- Chest and Back: Day 1 was harder than I expected. I'm a very big guy, 6'5 270; So I expected the pull ups to be very difficult. I used a chair the entire workout, and made about 8-10 reps each style and set of pull ups. The push ups were not anything out of the ordinary; I completed about 12-15 of each. I have been sore since day one. Overall, I thought it was a really good workout. I cant tell if I hurt my left arm, or it is just seriously sore. Day 2- Plyometrics: Plyometrics pretty much speaks for iteself. Hell in DvD form. The workout went well, I made it all the way through, but took more breaks than Tony alloted for. Remember everyone, its ok to take breaks. Dont give up. I was very tired after this workout, I even retired early to bed. Day 3- Arms and Shoulders: Yesterday was by far my favorite workout. I guess because it was the easiest for me so far. I'm not saying the workout was EASY, so dont be discouraged. Just in comparison to the others, arms and shoulders was much easier. Although, I dont have a variety of weights at all. In fact, I only have 25 pound dumbells. It was funny to be lifting twice as much as tony or the other guys. I had to cut down the reps though, no way I was going to make 16 with the 25s in most of the tricept work. Today, I am moderately sore, but two days after is when I normally start to feel the pain. I'll keep you all updated on my progress. If you have any questions or suggestions, please let me know. |

I cannot decide if I want to do yoga tonight, or if I want to do Kenpo. Anyone have any suggestions?

the schedule calls for yoga, so i say, do yoga. it also stretches you out (relieving some soreness) to get you through the second half of the week.

Don't skip out on Yoga. It may very well be the most important workout of P90X. Tony even says if he only had one workout to do, it would be Yoga.

Great advise guys, I will keep it in mind. I knew that the yoga was put there to help stretch things out and work out the soreness.
