Hey guys, good to be back for those of you who remember me from awhile ago. So, I finally got around to getting started..only 3 months behind haha..should be done already!! Anyways, I started the Classic workout today and wow was it rough. I knew I was out of shape but didn't know I was THAT outta shape..so anyways it went a little like this:
Worked ALL day fixing up my back room building a pull up bar station and getting everything situated so I started off a little fatigued. Just a little side note
Started with the warm up and I got to the running in place with the knees bent outward I knew I was in trouble haha. So, I made it through the warm up and started with the pull ups. I've never had trouble doing pull ups before so it was frustrating when I had to use the chair to get a good workout. This went on through the whole work out where I could only do a little at a time. I was so fatigued that by the middle of the DVD I had to stop or I was either going to pass out or throw up. I wouldn't exactly consider my first day a failure, but in my mind it was far from a success at the same time. I plan to pick it up little by little everyday so by the time Monday rolls around again I can at least make it through the whole thing.

Don't get discouraged, I had a little bit of the same thing the first day too. Day 1 is usually a pretty harsh wakeup call for quite a few people. You can read my logs in the daily log section. Keep it up and stick with it! Cheers!

Thank you headhuntr. I'm not discouraged though..motivated if anything, I don't like to fail, so I'm going to kill myself if I have to to get through the next workout. It was definitely a wake up call..I knew I was getting into a rough program, but didn't quite expect that.

Thanks. It sure feels good to be back I'll tell you that much. Buncha new faces here too which is definitely a good thing! Anywho --
Day 2: Pylo
Wow. What else can I say? This workout kicked my butt 6 ways from Sunday! I've weight trained and did a lot of athletic activities in my earlier days and this was by far the hardest thing I've ever done. My wife beater was soaked in sweat and literally completely see through. I did the entire video though, unlike yesterday, but had to take 45-60 second breaks on the water breaks and couldn't finish the entire workout on about half of the exercises. My legs are the weakest part of my body so this was definitely no picnic for me and I am 100% positive I will wanna quit tomorrow haha. No worries though I'm stickin this thing all the way through! I love arm workouts (not so much shoulders) so I'm REALLY looking forward to tomorrows workout. Nothing like that burning sensation in the middle of your biceps!

Whew. Just got through with shoulders and arms. Not bad at all. I made it through the entire video once again and definitely feel drained. I need less weight more reps in my work outs to tone my muscles and burn fat, but less weight definitely does not mean easier! Gotta say though..there's no better feeling than feeling like you didn't work hard enough and then trying to raise your arms and struggling with that haha. Overall a good work..my favorite weight based workout thus far.

On a side note -- I hadn't mentioned this before, but I haven't started the Ab Ripper yet due to the fact that I'm in no shape to start it yet. I plan on starting the Ab Ripper next week, but not expecting to be able to fully complete it or do every exercise completely at least. Hoping by Week 3 I'll be in decent enough shape to not only give it my all in the main workout and then push through the Ab Ripper. I'll keep you updated for whoever is actually taking the time to read my logs.

Wow! Why didn't anybody warn me about yoga?! Haha. That was vicious man. I won't lie to you all..I only got through half of the plank and downward dog stuff.. I picked it back up on the stretching portion and finished it all the way through from that point. I must admit I was thinking about replacing yoga with cardio x next week but I feel great after this workout. My soreness is almost completely gone, I do enjoy the workouts even though they're vigorous, the upward dogs help my lower back a lot and call me crazy but Tony doing that humming noise put me in an instant state of relaxation. Never felt like that before..definitely weird, but enjoyable. Well, overall a good workout and I feel like I really pushed myself as much as my body and mind could allow. I'll pick it up a bit more next week for sure!

I posted about my yoga incompetence a couple of times... It's crazy how long they go without standing up. Downward Dog to Plank to Upward Dog - pull the leg through - I hate Downward Dog. It always turns into Cobra for me (only for now).
One cool thing about my yoga workout was that my 8 yr old daughter got into it with me. She has asked since then if she can do it with me next time. I'm looking forward to some daddy/daughter time on Sunday again.
I take any motivation I can get! Big Papa.

Okie dokie! All done with Legs and Back. Not as rough as I was expecting but still a pretty good work out. Definitely had my weak points (wall squats) and I plan on pushing through to progress just a bit more next week. On a more positive side note -- On Day 1 I was only able to do one pull up and even then I couldn't get my chin over the bar, but today on the first set of pull ups I was able to get 4 correctly done pull ups. HUGE step forward in that category. I also feel like I'm already getting in better shape as I personally don't feel I slacked off on this workout and I don't seem TOO fatigued at all. All in all things are starting to fall into place and its only a matter of time until I'm doing these workouts for fun!

Breakfast - 2 eggs, slice of cheese, and two slices of turkey. (Lots of protein and so tasty..I recommend it)
Snack - I missed my snack
Lunch - Half chicken breast with green beans
Snack - Yeah..I missed another snack lol
Dinner - Half chicken breast with green beans
Took in a lot of proteins and not too many carbs, but I don't think I'm eating as many calories, proteins, or carbs as I need to. Plan on adding nuts, fruit, and protein shakes into the mix so that should help out in that area.

Man oh man was today fun! Today was my Kenpo X workout and I must say it is probably my favorite so far. I used to box back in high school so I love throwing punches and this just brought back some good memories. I must admit that I had some trouble with the back kicks with my left leg. For some reason I couldn't get it extended like my right leg so I need to work on that. Otherwise I was able to keep up with the people in the video for the most part even though I had to take a couple 5-7 second breaks later on in the video. I can honestly say in only one week I feel stronger and feel like I'm in EXTREMELY better shape. With that being said I believe thats why I was able to "bring it" more so than any other video yet. I'm looking forward to this next week's workouts to see the amount of progress I've made in only 6 days.

Sorry guys..forgot to post yesterdays work out!
Started back again with chest and back and I was able to completely do the entire video. Proud of myself..just goes to show how much progress you really can make in a week. I hit 4 unassisted pull ups with reverse grip and last time I did reverse grip unassisted I was only able to get 1..maybe 2 if you cut me some slack. For the most part I was able to get through the first half with no problems (going at my own pace), but the second half of the vide definitely caught up with me. I was only able to do like 2 diamond push ups and had no where near enough arm strength to do the dive bombers. I also started Ab Ripper X this week and I must say with the exception of a couple exercises this wasn't bad at all. My biggest problem was the oblique exercise mainly because I have love handles and can't raise my legs as high as I'd like to. All in all a good days work out and I'm completely satisfied with it.

Hey!
It is nice to read your posts because it gives me a little warning about what my future work outs will be like lol.
It is great that you keep on going! I had to stop when I only had 20 minutes left of the Poly because I just was soo tired and dizzy. My boyfriend was doing that one with me and he agreed that it was a tough work out as well.
It is also good to know that you notice progress. I wasn't able to do a lot of the push ups and I am hoping that next week I will be a little stronger!

You know the biggest regret I have so far is not finishing my day one workout. I know that its tough as these workouts are pretty intense, but its best to push through them even if you're going 100%. If you can push through the whole thing then the next time around you'll be able to finish it that much easier.

Day 9! Pylo again! Love this work out even though its really tough. I was able to finish the workout all the way just like last time, but on this go I was able to the workouts a lot harder and really bust my butt on them. I wore a long, no-sleeved shirt, light grey shirt and by the time I was done with the workout it was completely SOAKED and a dark grey color. I really pushed it as hard as I could tonight and I already feel like I can see results. I had a protein bar throughout the day so I want to give some credit to that for my burst of energy, but I also believe that I dug down deep and gave it everything I got. I had to eat dinner at 9, which frustrates me but things happen. Anywho.. Great workout and looking forward to tomorrows!

Hey all! So, today was my second go around of shoulders and arms. I really brought it today doing max reps on just about every workout. I also was able to move up slightly in weight on all the work outs and still do my 12-15 reps to failure, which is a good thing because it really shows the improvement I've made from week 1. I've never really had any problems working arms or shoulders, as I used to be a pitcher so I think that gives me an advantage going into these workouts. I'm hoping to see the same results by this Sunday as I did last Sunday. I also did Ab Ripper X tonight. My hip flexors are still sore from Monday's session, but I grunted through it and got done what I could. Reverse bicycles were almost impossible for me though. I also HIGHLY improved on the oblique workouts and notice a substantial decrease in love handles after doing what I could on Monday with obliques and then Pylo the following day. I'm exhausted, drenched in sweat, and ready for tomorrow!!!

I'm going out for a couple drinks with a buddy tonight, but it's a tradition so I really have no choice. In all honesty I feel that I deserve a couple cold ones as I've really been busting my butt. I know its gonna slow down my progress a little bit but I will more than make up for it in Yoga, Back and legs, and Kenpo X!
