DAY 1 - SEP 25, 08
Two words... rude awakening.
It was hard and dissapointing. 6 years ago I could do 20 pull ups (I was also 40pounds lighter). I think today I did about 3 and had to use a chair. I am seriously dissapointed in my own abilities here.
PS: I didn't do the fit test as I was gonna do the program no matter what... plus I wanted to start and not waist another day =\
By the way my first day measurements were as follow.
Male
23 years old
195 lb
21% body fat
(I might post the pix if I get results later on)
Goal is to loose 15-20 pounds.... and go down to 12-14% body fat.
Getting ripped would also be acceptable
Will try and post here my daily log to keep track of whats going on... feel free to respond, add you opinion or encourage me. I am preety sure I will need it =(

DAY 2- SEP 26, 08
Did the " plyometrics " today. I liked it! The time seem to fly by quickly and I actualy had fun (for the most part).
Plus I knew im pushing myself as at the end I looked like I got out of a shower!
Didn't ever think I could get my heart rate to go up that high with such a work out
PS: My body is SORE extremely sore... I felt best when I worked out, but before and after was pathetic. I could barrely drive my car after the first day of the program....

DAY 3 - SEP 27, 08
Shoulders and arms.... it wasn't too bad except that my sorness is whats getting me. Still I believe I did OK for the most part except the weights that I used were lighter than I though I could do (another reality check!).
The hardesst part so far is getting my diet right... I used to eat anything anytime and as much as I felt... I used to eat SUSHI by the boatload (all u can eat)- probebly the reason I got to this condition.
So now to plan what I eat and count it is VERY challenging for me.. I am not used to have so many meals a day Luckily this forum provides me with good advice and support.... THANK YOU GUYS & GIRLS!

DAY 4 - SEP 28, 08
YOGA!....grrrrrrrrrrr!
This is the most unproductive ( I hope I am wrong) day.
I couldnt do nearly as much as I wished I could... especialy the first half of the workout. It basically gives you no time to relax. There are no breaks for 40minutes streight. And that go down to the floor between moves what kills me (probably since my arms are ready to fall off from day 1)
Hated yoga, but loved the end of it... realxation =)))))

DAY 5 - SEP 29, 08
Legs and Back.... did it, can't say I loved it. Finding myself thinking that I just want to be done with it... kinda loosing motivation =(
Pull ups were a dissapointment again as I mostly used the chair to get some reps...
Starting to get that healthy eating thing... except I feel like I might not get enough calories going ( i started another thread here about that- maybe someone can help)
PS: I am not even doing the Ab ripper as I am too tired ~ maybe lazy after the work outs. I will try and start them next week.
PSS: My sorness is going away! not sure if it the recovery drink I bought the Whey protein or simply the time/workouts but I can finaly streghten my arms again =))))

Are you using the whey protein as your recovery drink? Does it have carbs too? I can't have the P90X products (can't have wheat or dairy), so I eat a different protein bar and also a nut & fruit bar to get protein & carbs BEFORE the workout (about 1-2 hrs before). AFTER the workout, I have a egg white protein drink, and since it has no carbs, 2 pieces of whole-grain toast with some jam. Make sure you are getting some carbs to give you the strength and endurance for the workouts.

Hey man, you are doing good, but don't skip on the AB Ripper. I do my workouts in the morning and finish the ab ripper in the evening, there is nothing wrong with splitting the two workouts.
Don't let yoga discourage you. It helps to watch them do it first so you know what is coming up. I know they don't give you any breaks, but you have the PAUSE button, don't be afraid to use it. I use it all the time to make sure i'm doing the moves correctly. Its better to rest and do it right, then be tired and have horrible form...QUALITY OVER QUANTITY! I didn't like it the first time either, but i'm starting to enjoy it. I'll definitely get better at it during the recovery week.
One other thing...diet. It is part of the "equation" you got to have good diet to get the best possible results. Some people have posted in the nutrition section the types of things they incorporate into their diets...might be a good place to get some ideas.
Keep up the good work!!!

No, I have a separate drink for that its called "Endurox R4", I only dink it after the hardcore workouts. (52g carbohydrates-13g protein-1g fat-220mg sodium)
The Whey protein is called "100% Whey Protein" by EAS. This is simply to add me in meeting my daily protein intake. Depends on what I eat daily the times I will drink it will vary. (2g carbohydrates-23g protein-2g fat- 50mg sodium)
This is the first time EVER i am drinking any kind of whey or recovery drinks.... I found this brands were talked about by someone here and decided to try them, dont know if they are the best or not.
With regard to the diet, there is something that doesn't add up. If I look at the nuitrition book (pg 15- portion approach)And try to add all the servings for the day... I dont get the 2,400 calories they are caliming to have

Hey, did you get the vanilla flavor for Endurox...if yes, doesn't it taste like a milkshake?
I also agree that if you follow the nutrition guide, you wont get the necessary calories. I just started eating more.

DAY 8 - OCT 2, 08 <----- WEEK # 2 BEGINS
Chest and back all over again, I didn't do any better than on day one. Preety much same amount of reps and weights =(. I didn't feel as sore after (day 1 was horrible) but that is expected after excersising daily.
PS: I still can't bring myself to do the ab ripper ... I am dead after the routine and can't do it. Also deviding the workouts doesn't seem to work for me. I will try to push myself to do it in phase two. I know I will have less results, but aperantly I hate doing abs =\

DAY 9 - OCT 3, 08
Plyometrics... DAMN , I remembered these beeing more fun last week. I didn't enjoy the frogs and the jumping as much it BURNED!
PS: I also tend to do the excersises at different time of the day all the time. Since my schedule is cheotic (sometimes I wake up at 2am to go to work- then I got school and other stuff) So sometimes I really dont feel like doing anything-- but so far did't miss a day!

DAY 11 - OCT 5, 08
Did the shoulders and arms today. Still pissed off about missing the day and the whole GF B.S I had to think about. Ruined my motivation big time.
When I was done I felt much better though.
PS: ON THE GOOD NOTE, I weighted myself today aaaaaand...... scales showed 188lb!
Thats 7 lb down in 11 days !

Wow! Amazing results so far! I usually do the ARX right after the workout, but on Sunday I did the S&A in the AM, then ARX at night. Is it possible for you to do the ARX at a different time? I got more reps in because I separated the workouts, but I think I'm going to go back to doing them together, just the time element for me.

Great job on staying with the program and not just quitting. You can possibly make up the day on X-stretch day.
Veerukka,
I always do the ARX separately, this way i know i can "bring it" each and every time. Otherwise, I'd be too tired to do it right after the workout.

Well..... I havn't been on this site for a while now.
But I have been sticking with the program... although I missed a about 3 days of workout so far (I had races on those days so I burned some calories still)... I also made up some of these day on the rest days.
Well my rest week came and went by already, and today is my day NUMBER 30!
I will be starting Phase 2 TOMOROW!
I took some pix and if anyone of you are interested I can post heme here, to see if you can see a difference from day 1.
So far.. I am down 4% body fat and 15 pounds. (from 21% to 17% and from 195lb to 180lb)
Thanks for your support
