Day 1 today. Awesome workout. Chest/Back video. Worked out with Hundley, Wilson, and Rash. Having a group was helpful and motivational. Off to a great start.

Consistancy is the key to success!!!! One day at a time...

I thought I'd sleep like a baby after the intense workout of day one, but I didn't get to sleep until 3am. I couldn't get comfortable. I think it might be that my muscles got too confused

So, I feel like I'm in fairly good shape, I have competed in many running events lately and done well. This work out kicked my butt. Like in any distance race it's important to pace yourself...I guess it was the adrenaline and excitement in starting these workouts but I didn't follow this universal rule, I paid for it. About midway through the workout I nearly pushed pause and went to the garbage can to pay homage. Nevertheless, I toughed it out and feel better for it!

I am a little sore in the back and chest today...ready for the plyometrics on Day 2!

Totally agree that working with a group helped tremendously! I felt like I was letting the others down when I took a break (although when I was about to throw up I didn't care). I also liked it when we talked shat and challenged eachother! Bring it batches...I'm here for the long haul!

It's official, we will be sore this weekend! I underestimated this workout...seemed simple, but in motion, way harder! This worked a lot of the lower body and will strengthen up the legs and backsides. I am proud of all the guys in this one b/c it wasn't easy and no one quit.

Proud of Big Papa for toughing it out, he's gonna make it to 250 by the end of this...I have confidence! You gotta believe!

Day 3 tom...Bring it!

Day 2 - Legs was pretty intense. Any of the exercises where I have to lift my own body weight is much tougher than when I use the weights or bands.
At the end of the workout I was dripping wet and there was not one dry spot on my shirt.
I have to drive 45 minutes home after work (my gym and partners are at work) so when I went to get out of the car my legs were jello.
Still feeling pretty good overall.

Big Papa.

Re:Daily Log for Big Papa 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Day 3 - Since it was Saturday I had to do this one at home. I did have one of the guys come over so we could do it together. All we had was a set of 40's a set of 25's and my wife's resistance band and a set of her 5 lb weights.
On a couple of the shoulder fly exercises I took the 5's and did tons of reps. It felt great at the time and I got a solid burn.
After the workout my wife and I went for a one-hour walk. It was a beautiful day here in central Kentucky.

After showering up I took my family to about an hour north to my parent's house. By about 5pm my body started to shut down. My lats were the worst. It was hurting me to pick up my 2 year old. I had to take 3 ibuprofin to get rid of the inflamation. Ok, so maybe I'm jumping in too fast after too much inactivity. But I'll tell you this - 100 wild dogs couldn't keep me from doing that Yoga workout tomorrow afternoon.

One other note. I started walking on Aug. 7 along with doing a few push-ups to "prepare" for P90X. At that time I weighed 330. This morning after the workout I weighed 310. 20 down, 80 to go!

Re:Daily Log for Big Papa 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Day 4 - Yoga. I hated it. Probably because I couldn't do a lot of it. I found that my combination of a big gut and very limited flexibility made for some pretty weak yoga moves. I still got a good sweat and I tried to do everything, but my arms just don't fit through my legs and around my knees to stretch my glutes among other moves.
It was pretty frustrating.
I did have a decent experience with some of the balancing moves. I did better than I thought balancing on one foot.
Even with all that I feel like I did get a good stretch and my body feels much better than it did yesterday.
Today was also the first time I had to do a workout by myself. It's a lot more fun with my partners. However, I want to be sure no pictures are taken when I'm in those pretzel positions.

Onward and upward - Big Papa

I am still in pain from day 3...I have soreness in places I didn't know I could get it (mainly lowerbody). I did not get to do Yoga yesterday and am afraid that I may pay for it. The stretching I definitely could have used. Unfortunately today is legs and back...this may cause some discomfort but may work out some of the pain.

I have had back trouble in the past and am hoping that the core strengthening combined with not using weights will strengthen my back. I am still excited about the program and believe i will see results!

It's coming baby...Rome was not built in a day!

I too suffer from big belly, legs and arms too short etc....

I had trouble with yoga, gonna make a better attempt at it this week( starting week # 2 tonight). I need the flexibility.

Definitely do the rest day stretch. I was sore, sore sore sunday morning. I was reading some posts from here and someone wrote how good they felt after stretch X. So I did it.......man I felt good after.

gonna go do chest and back now.......dreading it. It hurts so bad.

I sure do feel good after though!!!!

Hey Big Papa,

Way to go !!! Keep up with it. I just got back from the Tony Horton Fitness Camp in Las Vegas. IT WAS AMAZING!! Met the 2 winners of the $250,000 prize they give out for the P90X success stories. The guy, Earl lost 140 lbs and the woman, Kim lost 90lbs.

They just stuck with the program and didn't give up. I can't believe you guys are doing it on your own!!! Aren't you using the online gym they provide for P90X users? It's free. Everyday someone wins $300-$1000 for logging their workouts in. Two of my friends already have won. Let me know if you want info on how to use it. It's a great motivator for when you don't feel like working out.

Keep pushing play, you can do it!!

Big Papa,

Forgot to add...you shouldn't be feeling REALLY hungry. Dieting is not allowed

just playing

I just know this because I've done the program and Tony Horton is a good friend of mine. He'd gasp in horror if he knew you were "dieting"

It's changing the way you eat. If you can't follow the Nutrition Plan to a tee, I can get you more info on what to eat. No starving allowed!!

Let me know!

Thanks for the advice everyone. It all helps.

Yesterday I did the Legs and Back. Now that's back to the workouts I can get into. This morning I feel like I've done a good workout, but I'm not too sore or tired. I could get out of bed this morning without feeling like I needed a deep tissue massage.

Today is Kempo - I'm actually looking forward to it. Watch out Chuck Liddel... Big Papa is in training!

I agree with Tamara, you should consume your daily caloric intake, you'll need it to survive this journey.
simply put, dieting will kill your progress.

Kenpo X today. Pretty fun, cool stuff and I worked up a serious sweat. I don't have a heart rate monitor yet, but it was beating pretty hard. This was the first day I was able to do the entire tape without pushing pause or taking a break.
I feel good enough to go for a walk on this beautiful night. Big Papa.
