TOPIC: Commander Quan's Daily Log

Commander Quan's Daily Log 1 year, 4 months ago #64749

I just started the program again today 12/27, and am determined to finish. I started the program last year but had to stop after 6 weeks in due to 2 disks in my lower back that give me trouble from time to time. Only this time they had bulged WAY out and I could barely get a shoe on due to the stiffness and pain when I bent over. I let it go longer than I should have before going to see a doctor, and it's taken me the rest of the year to get myself straightened out. During that time I couldn't workout, even moderately, and I was in pain every day, so my give a shit factor was nonexistent. I gained back everything I had lost plus 10 pounds.

Day 1 is done and I always hated shoulders and back, mostly because my upper body strength sucks, but I went after it with the tenacity of someone who is sick a tired of being uncomfortable in their body. I plan on being a little smarter this time, and will substitute Cardo X or a hour on the elliptical in place of Plyo, which was the source of the disk problems the last time around. Since I've done the program before I know the work that needs to be put into it to achieve results and am excited to see the end results.

I forgot that the worst part about starting P90x isn't how hard Chest & Back is, but how hard it is go get dressed the day after starting with Chest & Back

I completed Cardio X this afternoon the first part that starts out with yoga was hard after yesterdays workout, but the rest was fine just a good old fashioned sweat. I started following the nutrition plan today.

Shoulders and Arms today went a lot better than I was expecting it too, since I'm still real stiff from Mondays Chest and Back, and it feels really good to be lifting weights again. There is something about lifting heavy weight that makes you feel like a man. The food stuff has been going well, and I am taking extra precautions to protect my lower back during the workouts, and lots of back extensions throughout the day to keep the disks where they are supposed to be. My water intake has gone up by about 500% during the day
