Day 4 - Sprint Workout

We went into the gym today and did a ladder. We did 2 "22's" 2 "33's", 2 "44's", 2 "33's" and 2 "22's.
22 = 4 touches baseline to baseline in 22 seconds
33 = 6 touches
44 = 8 touches

It was a very good workout. I hadn't sprinted in a long time but I held up pretty good and we'll add more next week. The hardest part was the turn. It's tough to get 300lbs to stop going one direction and start going the other. No shin splints today. I think that running on the soft wood of the basketball court makes a big difference.

Also did Ab Ripper X - at our own pace and did 25 on every exercise. It really is harder to do it at my own pace because I can't get to 15 by the time Tony is done and just move on to the next thing.

Thanks to all who read and respond.

Legs and Back today

This one is one of my favorites. Pull ups went pretty well. After our running yesterday, it was a really tough leg workout. Got a very good sweat throughout.
Added bench press to the end of the workout. Got 20 reps of 135. 10 reps of 185. 7 reps of 205. And ended with 5 reps of 225.

A good workout for sure.

Saturday - walked around Lexington with my wife for a couple of hours while our daughter was in ballet class. Legs were already sore from the Leg/Back workout on Friday.

Sunday - hiked the foothills of Berea, KY. We were hiking for about 3 hours. This trail was MUCH more demanding than the trails we'd hiked previously. It was a good day. I love it when we do family activities like that.

Chest and Back today

Intense workout. My body felt good going in to this one. Lots of push ups - more than last time on several of the exercises. Pull ups are still about the same - right around 10 on each one with 2 feet in a chair.

We welcomed a new member to the group. Our soccer coach joined the fun today and worked hard. He still plays in an indoor soccer league so he's in pretty good shape, but the push ups and pull ups are a shock to his body.

Good day for sure.

Wow, another 90 days. You're an inspiration man. Was reading through a few logs and noticed it was you, so I wanted to hit you back with some love. Best of luck with round 2!

Shoulders and Arms today. Me, Scott, Ryan, Nick, and JD - the group continues to grow. It's a pretty cool thing. Seems the more people who are there - the higher the energy level.
My reps were up today as was the weight. I used the 50's on several of the military press exercises. 25's on most of the curl exercises.
My neck/shoulder muscles are pretty tight tonigt.
After practice Scott and I got an extra lift in doing bench press. I got 20 reps of 135, 10 reps of 185, 7 reps of 205, 6 reps of 225, and 20 more reps of 135. That's pretty good for an old fat guy like me!
More running tomorrow.
