@ Araris,
first, plyo is on a different stratosphere than cardioX and Kenpo. i barely get fatigued doing either of those. but plyo, you have to break out the mop and clean up the pool of sweat i leave after i've done plyo! in any case, you could have simply pushed yourself too hard. did you keep up with the kids on every move? if so, you may want to just back off a little until your body adjusts and can keep up without this breathing/wheezing issue. thats just my thought.

Also, finished chest & back last night, and you think to youself, well, this is round 3, so it should be "easier"....but WROOOOONNNGGGG!!! its still as hard as it was on day one. unbelievable! haha....well, it also didnt help that i hadn't worked out for about a month since i last finished round 2 (got married, honeymoon, moved into a new place).
but looking forward to burning some calories tonight with plyo. and word of advice for those of you who may workout in the evening as i do. dont do plyo too late (say, 2-3 hours before bedtime?), or you'll have a very difficult time falling asleep! (trust me, personal experience!).

I've restarted yesterday so I'll roll with this group.
Chest & Back were more tame seeing as I'm used to it. I was able to push it more and have a good sore going today.
And I'm an after work person coco. I start work at 6 am so no way I'd be able to do it beforehand. Figure I'd have to wake up at 3am and that's not happening. I get out at 3pm so that last half hour of work my mind is set on going home and bringing it. As soon as I walk in the door I'm right into my workout clothes and right into my workout space to knock it out. Also think it's a good thing that my wife works until 5. Not calling her a distraction but her still being at work allows me to come home and just concentrate on the workout.

Yeah, I try to keep up with them and do everything they do up until the rock star jumps, then I had to pause it because My heart was racing and I was wheezing pretty bad. I think your right to I just need to take it a little easier, but it's hard for me because I've al;ways pushed myself.

Wow I go away for a while and I come back and there is a party!! Man am I sore from the chest and back workout. It hurts to move. I don't mind plyo but I still have to slow the pace quite a bit to keep my heart rate in the proper zone.
I'm dialed in I think. I'm watching the macros on my diet and shooting for the 50p/30c/20f mix recommended by the program. I'm getting amazingly close by keeping the same menu day after day. Sounds boring but it's not been too bad I've been working on dialing in the diet for about two weeks now. Here is how it looks... spaces between meals
1/2 c Oatmeal
Protein drink
4oz chicken
yogurt
1 can Tuna in water
4oz chicken
1oz peanuts
Dinner is what ever I feel like. Fish or shrimp, veggies, cottage cheese. This is my big meal.
Protein drink
I then calculate the days calories and macros and fine tune with the appropriate combo of wheat bread or celery and peanut butter. Natural of course.

Something that I have noticed about myself is that I can do cardio X and Kenpo with no problems. However, When I do Plyometrics, I always seem to struggle because my heart races and I wheeze almost like I asthma. I have never been diagnosed with asthma, but I am curious now does anyone on here ever have any problems with Plyo or with wheezing?
A couple of thoughts.
If you don't have a heart rate monitor get one. Stay in the zone. If I get over 80% of max even for a short time I get winded really quick.
The other is, make sure you're not holding your breath. That will make you start gasping for air real quick. I know from experience. I have a bad habit of holding my breath and I really have to focus on breathing.

Did Shoulders and Arms last night. I learned the first day of this to pace myself. So I found it much easier to get through the whole thing. Had to take a couple mini breaks but survived.
Then did the Ab Ripper X...ugh. That is going to kill me. Didn't try to keep up with the number of reps so made it through the whole thing unlike Day 1.
Keep Bringing It Everyone!!! Great to be going through this with a group.

coco, My advice for getting out of bed;
1. Consume some protein right before going to sleep. e.g. slow digesting Protein shake.
2. Get a really loud and annoying alarm, and then set it out of reach from your bed. This way you HAVE to get out of bed in the morning to switch the darn thing off.
The handy thing is, taking protein right before bed will make you feel fresher in the morning. So then when you jump out to switch off that alarm, you only need a little self motivation to not crawl back in.

I coincidentally started on the 17th
If you don't mind I'll hijack this thread and post along with you!
Small Intro
I'm 5'7, 136 pounds. I recently had my body fat checked and it was already fairly low at 9%. I've already been somewhat active, working out and running.
My aim: Get my body fat below 6% to reveal that elusive 6 or possibly 8 pack!
Tone and bulk up my upper body, without neglecting my lower half too.
Day 1 - Chest & Back... and Ab Ripper X
I enjoyed this session... until it came to Abs
It took me roughly 25 minutes to finish the workout. I did all the reps, at my own expense;
Today is Wednesday and I am STILL VERY much in pain lol... and here was me thinking my core was in half decent shape.
Day 2 - Plyo
It was tough, but I am semi used to this kind of pace in previous work outs so I was able to keep up. My legs certainly felt the burn though on many of the squats. A good day though.
Day 3
Today. A decent session. My only problem was only having 2 sets of dumbwell weights to work with. So many of the exercises weren't quite heavy enough or were a little too light.
That being said, for a first week it was still a good introduction for my muscles.
I had to skip Ab Ripper X. I could barely do one single sit up. I'll rest up this area for Friday, which I think is next again for abs.
Diet Wise
Only been a few days, but have REALLY made an effort in this area.
I haven't followed the plan exactly, but I have followed the guidelines of high in protein, low in carbs etc.
I've hardly touched bread, had plenty of eggs, and introduced a variety of nuts and seeds into my diet.
Yoga tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to!

Just did part of the Yoga. I do martial arts training a couple times a week and don't want to kill myself for class tonight. It was a lot harder then I was expecting. I was pouring sweat.
Killed my diet a bit at lunch as I missed grabbing my lunch this morning. So had to eat at the work cafeteria, not the best choices there. Will make sure I don't forget again!
I have been eating healthy but having trouble getting in all the food. Anyone else having this problem?

I started on the 17th with a coworker. We've been working out consistently for the past 3 months with moderate results until we
both plateaued. It's 90 days til my 21st birthday and my goal is to
have a 6 pack of abs to go with my 6 pack of beer.
I'm 5'10" and weigh 152 lbs, I wouldn't mind shedding
some lbs of fat for muscle. I need some calipers to measure
my progression over these next beautiful 90 days.
Something that motivates me is whenever I remind my coworker about
our workout I always change the name to however many days remain.
i.e. "We doing P87X after work today?"
Monday : Chest and Back day was tough, but I didn't realize that
I had forgotten to do "Ab Ripper X".
Tuesday : UgH. I've never sweat that much in my life. I think it was
because I was above the 90% heart rate zone the whole time!
Does 190bpm seem unhealthily fast to anyone else?
My legs are getting more sore as the week progresses.
Wednesday : I struggled with pausing the video constantly to change
the amount of weight between exercises..such a hassle.
Now I know what "Ab Ripper X" is... I think I shed a tear.
Thursday : YOGA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! TGI Thursday.

YogaX Oh My! This was in no way fun for me. All thos Warrior poses and my shoulders are begging for mercy. I could go but suffice it to say. I'm sure I'll see tons of improvement in my performance over time but I'm sure not looking forward to it.
Diet today is going to suck. I have to attend a lunch meeting today out of town and will be there from morning to afternoon. They will have chicken but I'll have to eyeball the portions and my snacks will be MIA. Oh well this doesn't happen very often.

yoyojoe, yes, 190 does sound a little high, especially if you're sustaining that. ease up until your body adapts to it so you're not up in that range. the simple heart rate calculation is 220 - (your age), thats your max....and then its 60%-85% of that is where you should be. theres a more complex and involved formula, i forget what it is at the moment.
and regarding shoulders & arms, and having to pause to switch out weights. are you a gym member? or have access to a weight room? try doing shoulders and arms there. you can either try to transfer the video onto an ipod or something, or what i do is just bring the worksheets with me. it makes life MUCH easier to just grab the dumbells you need and go.
as for me, shoulders and arms went well. even did a little cardio afterwards. had a ton of energy at the end of it. which was encouraging. my arms were REALLY stiff overnight, and i'm still sore from monday! looking forward to tonight's yoga x, unlike the wife who is dreading it. she'll turn around....haha.
bring it!!!

Hey all, is everyone keeping up?! I can't believe week 3 is just around the corner! I'm starting to see some really changes in my body. This week I recieved leg magic which I LOVE and am expecting another informercial gadget that is supposed to help the chest area (an area all women lack in) and bought a pair of MBT's last night. Also bought another pair of rockin 4in heels and a cashmere sweater but you guys probably could care less about those .
Tomorrow we start our school schedule, its early cause school doesn't start til Monday but I want to be in the habit. So I'll be up with Araris Valerian and LabGuy... was wondering Rees if you have a "slow digesting Protein shake" recommendation? I'll be going shopping tonight for something in that area...

i think the most popular (and the ONLY one i'm familiar with) "slow digesting protein" is casein, read more here: http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/mic.html
i personally just bought and started using ON casein (cookies and cream). i'll see how it works. though i tried muscle milk (which is a combo of whey protein concentrates & isolates as well as Casein) a few months back, and it seemed to have a really nice effect, especially since i work out at night, leaving me little time to feed my muscles after the workout.

Hi all,
Just found this thread and thought I would jump in. I started on the 18th because I like having Yoga on Friday during my first round so I left it there. I have discovered that Round 2 is no easier than R1 because you just push yourself that much harder. I just about killed myself Tuesday with chest and back trying to keep up with Tony.
Best of Luck to ALL and keep hitting PLAY!!!
