I'm not completely hopeless by any stretch of the imagination. I'm starting P90X because I like the organized structure of it all, but I've been working out more or less consistently for the past six weeks. Have gone from being unable to do more than 30 push ups and zero pull ups in November and only a few crunches to upwards of 75 push ups, various kinds of pull ups and chin ups, etc...

Which is great, because it demonstrates I have a fair bit of muscle that's just invisible under my body fat. So today we end the random workouts and begin P90X, with the objective of actually being able to -see- those muscles someday.

DAY 1: CHEST, BACK, ABS

I get through it slowly! The warm up itself is killer, I'm almost too tired to work out afterwards. A little bit after the first half I begin feeling a pain in my elbow which is not soreness. I decide to listen to the body and not push through that so I call an end to the workout. A half hour of push ups & pull ups is good for my first day and I already did a -lot- more than I'm accustomed to. I feel good about this.

The ab workout is absolutely killer. Nice way to close out the day. Off to enjoy a protein shake...

DAY 2: Plyometrics

Yea that was killer. Legs gave out before the halfway point. They're crazy wobbly right now... I probably should be doing Cardio X instead of plyo but nah. I'll fight through plyo if it kills me.

Two eggs and a slice of ham in the morning. 1/8 of a serving of chocolate cake in the afternoon with a cup of almond milk. That was satisfying, you really don't need much to satisfy that "sweet tooth" craving. Dinner soon, lentil soup and steamed veggies. Hungry just thinking about it. Could use some more protein but it'll be another few days before I can visit the grocery store so I'm making do with what I have and rationing my ham to last me 'til then.

The first week is the hardest, and Plyo will get easier if yo stick with it.

DAY 4: Yoga

I haven't done yoga yet today, but didn't update about Shoulders & Arms yesterday so I thought I'd go ahead and post on that. Went well! The workout was fine, the diet started out good but went haywire in the evening after an unexpected family visit and an invite to a restaurant. That's ok though, back to business as usual this morning.

Yoga will be done this evening, looking forward to it...
