TOPIC: Weight/Bodyfat % not budging an inch

I'm finishing week 3 of P90X classic and am I bit surprised to see that my weight and bodyfat % have not moved at all since day 0. I am on Phase II Level II nutritionally (I know from experience that low-carb just doesn't do much for me, and I'd rather have more energy for the workouts) and feel good about the workouts and have seen my reps/weights increase on every one. I am 6'3", 205 lbs, 22% bodyfat (which is Level III technically). Maybe I should bump up to Level III calories? Any thoughts? My best guess is that my body is going, "What are you doing to me?" and slowing my metabolism.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts. |

Couple of questions:
Are you tracking your food? How many calories are suggested in the guide? Are you eating enough calories? What kind of food are you eating? |

The guide says I should be Level III, but I have generally been following Level II because it seems like way too much food at Level III. I am tracking it using myfitnesspal.com
My typcal day is: 5:30 am--workout P90X Recovery drink immediately after. Breakfast--1 scoop Shakeology, 1 scoop whey, 1 cup skim milk, 1 TB natural PB. Snack--P90X Protein Bar. Lunch--6 oz grilled chicken, 1 cup whole wheat pasta or brown rice, baby carrots, salad Snack--apple, 1 oz mixed nuts Dinner--6 oz grilled chicken, 1 cup broccoli Snack--1 scoop Optimum Nutrition Casein, 1 cup milk. |

To loose weight you have to eat at a calorie deficit so like 93 confirmed said are you tracking your food carefully. Did you figure out how many calories you need? Eat about 200-500 less calories than what you need to maintain and you will see the weight start to go.

How many calories is that? Have you tried putting your info into a calorie calculator to see how much you should be eating a day. Remember the nutrition guide is a general guide you have to adjust calories to fit you and your body.

The main thing that jumps out at me here is that roughly 50% of your food intake is supplements, which is no good. You need to get more natural foods in that diet and get them in earlier in the day. You're waking up at 5:30 and not getting real food until mid-day. I would suggest replacing the morning snack (protein bar). How many calories do you end up with when you track those foods? It's possible you're not getting enough and your body is in starvation mode. |
