If there is fruit in my recovery drink does that count towards my fruit consumptions for the day ? and the other thing is that i keep reading that having carbs and sugar is good post workout is this really true? It seems so counter intuitive. I am putting my faith in all the statements i ahve read so my recover drink which before was just a protein shake has changed to this.

my recovery drink is

8oz tropican 50 pom/blueberry (50cal)
1 tblsp creatine (15 cal)
3 tblsp TWIN LAB AMINO FUEL 100 call

totals 175 cal
0g fat
25g carbs
15 g protein
20g sugar

thanks for the help!

not enough carbs, you want 4:1 ratio (carbs/protien), this is what I drink www.endurox.net/ Some people count it towards your daily intake, some dont.

I just bit the bullet and got the P90X results and recovery, cause I found so much conflicting info on everything else. I will give it a try for a month and see if there is any "noticeable difference".

Chocolate milk (skim or 1%), 4:1 carb protein ratio, tasty and cheap. I have a tub of Accelerade from biking but it's pretty nasty tasting. My son is using the P90X recovery drink, almost $50 with shipping. But hey, it's his money.
