Today was a good day 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 2
It's not that often that I hit my personal nutrion goals. Today was one of those days I try to eat less than 40g of fat, no more than 250g of carbs, and get as close as I can to 300g of protein, all the while eating under 3000 calories, and hitting a target ratio of 50% protein/30% carbs/20% fat.

TODAY

2248 calories
38.9g fat
160.9g carbs
311.5g protein
16% fat
29% carbs
56% protein

Tht is a TON of protein. Dont want to sound like a broken record but try not to ingest too much cause its bad for your kidneys. But good %'s none the less

Actually, my diet wasn't ideal as far as well-rounded nutrition goes. I ate no vegetables today. I would say I eat no vegetables 3 days per week. I really don't like any vegetables other than carrots and broccoli. I have to cook the broccoli, so I eat it one a week. Carrots a couple times per week. With that said...

BREAKFAST
Omelet - 2 whole eggs, 2 egg whites, 2 slices of ham, 2 slices of turkey, 1/8 cup of fat free cheddar
whey protein drink

SNACK
1/4 of a cantaloupe

LUNCH
2 homemade buffalo chicken wraps - chicken breast, fat free cheddar cheese, 2 whole wheat tortillas, buffalo sauce
whey protein shake

SNACK
blueberry yogurt

POST-WORKOUT
Mass-Tech recovery drink

DINNER
turkey chili

BEFORE BED
whey protein shake (already factored in)

Keep in mind that this is less than what I usually eat, but today was just stretch day. I could probably eat some more fruit and some carrots, maybe a V8, and still be good to go, but I really don't feel hungry right now. If this was a weekday and I had to do Army PT in the morning, work throughout the day, and then P90X at night, I'd be dragging azz right now begging for bananas and apples.

I was beginning to think that I was probably eating too much protein. I kept reading all kinds of different suggestions for protein intake, from 1-1.5 times your body weight (which would be up to 300g for me) to other formulas. I'm probably just wasting protein. I think I'll cut back to 250g.
