I read the "TNT Diet" book, put out by Men's Health. I looked it over several months ago. It was the workout rage for awhile.
They promote a 8oz. protein drink mixed w/ water up 1 hr. before the workout begins. You drink 1/2 (4 oz.) prior to workout. Then the other 1/2 immediately after the workout. Also suggested, 20g (5g's 4x's a day) of Creatine a day. They call it a saturation.
Then follow up within one hour of workout completion, with another 8oz protein shake, or protein snack like a sm. can of tuna, turkey breast etc.
FYI only. It may work for some people or offer a change up in your routine.

creatine doesn't do anything for your strength... it only makes your muscles look bigger... as soon as you stop taking it, your muscles will shrink back down... total waste of money IMHO

according to the guy at GNC, and i'm just repeating what he said (haven't done my own research nor have i tried it myself): creatine supplies the muscle with my hydration, allowing you to lift more. and since you're lifting more, then yes, you'll see some nice gains.
i guess it all depends on the one point of if the extra hydration to the muscles do in fact lets you muscles do "more".

I am trying "Kre-Alkalyn". 2 caps before wkout. 2 caps after. Done. Not choking down 7 caps 4 x's a day.
Label on bottle & "salesman" at vitamin store confirmed Creatine Monohydrate researched over a decade +, is proven to enhance strength, endurance & subsequence athletic performance.
It is difficult to absorb into bloodstream. The stuff I am trying is suppose to solve that problem.
Hype probably. But, I feel I am squeezing out more tough reps at the end of an exercise. More so than before I started. I'll finish bottle & re-evaluate. I'll take any edge I can get.
It is astricted that it has not been approved by the FDA.

What are the best mixes to buy when it comes to creatine content? I've never been able to find a chart or anything that lists creatine content by brand.

Creatine does saturate your muscles with water-weight. BUT, all that water-weight is in the form of glucose(muscle energy). What it does is make your muscles appear slightly larger but it also gives you the ability to push your muscles further than they would under normal circumstances. Yes, as soon as you stop taking creatine you're muscles will shrink, but if you properly utilized your time on creatine then you'll have increased your overall muscle mass.
