Supplements 3 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hello to all, I recently purchased the P90X program and i am delighted to say that i cannot wait to arrive. All of your testimonials and before and after pics are great and will sure be used as a motivational tool. One question that i do have is if there are any supplements out there that are worth buying to go along with the program to maximizze your results? Any input at al will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I am finishing up the older P90 program, and will be starting the P90X in 2 weeks.

During the first 5-6 weeks of P90, I took BioLean II and then I ran out. I haven't purchased any more yet, but, I do believe I had better results taking them than without.

During the first 5-6 weeks, I lost 30lbs, and several inches in my chest and waist and gut.

Since I've stopped taking them supplements, I've only lost about 10 lbs, and a couple of more inches.

It may be a total mental thing, but, I do believe I was having better results taking them.

Bottom line, I am buying a 3 month supply to last me the duration of P90X.

Hope this helps, I'm not very scientific or anything, I just think they helped me.

Good luck and hopefully someone smarter than me will post as well.

Supplements, depending on which ones you use of course, are intended to be beneficial. If you use hydroxycut hardcore, for example, and use it how it is intended then it will improve your results. They're completely unnecessary, but if you do decide to take them then they should bump up your results a bit.

Please elaborate; you're saying that supplements are intended to beneficial yet you say they are unnecessary. even if it's just your opinion please clarify your point for educational purposes.

I don't take any supplements only because I haven't looked into them.

Supplements can assist in boosting results. The mistake that most regular folks make is that they think that they can take the 'pills' and like magic, they get results! As we all know, this is NOT the case. You need to put the work in.

With that being said, supplements will boost your results in many cases. You can lose more weight, put on more muscle by using the right supplements for your goals.

Supplements are unnecessary because you do not need them to achieve what you're doing. Basically, what they do is help speed up the process of whatever you're taking them for. For example, let's say you're trying to lose weight you can exercise everyday maintain a healthy diet and eventually reach what you're trying to get to or you can take a supplement such as hydroxycut hardcore and if used correctly it could help you reach your goal quicker. Now, this doesn't mean a supplement will work for everybody. I've used supplements for weight loss, creatine for lifting weights and a few others for anabolic (they were completely legal and healthy) purposes. Just do some research on a certain supplement you're interested in to make sure it won't harm you in the long run.

--Sorry for the double post--

I've used a ton of supplements throughout my high school sporting days so I feel pretty experienced and comfortable with them. If you are interested in a supplement for a specific purpose I'd be more than happy than to provide a few recommendations.

Thanks to all for the advice, i dont not have much knowledge on supplements and is great learning more about what they are and how they work. Coy G, for reference i am 5'11 about 155 lbs. So i am pretty slim with a bit of a gut. My unltimate goals with this program is to put on some muscular weight and eventually somewhat get rid of the gut. Since you seem to be pretty knowledgeable about supplements what do you suggest me taking to maximize the results.

For starters I would definitely try some whey protein. That should bulk you up a bit enough to start putting on the muscle to start hitting heavier weights. When that time comes I would recommend creatine with phosphagen (excuse my spelling) and an anabolic enhancer called Leukic. Now, a lot of people are really hesitant about using anabolic enhancers mainly because that's what steroids are, but Leukic is completely natural and legal. You can pick it up at pretty much any vitamin store. If you have any doubts about any of those items just look up some basic information and see how you feel about them afterwards.
