Not sure if you are still checking this but the protein:carb ratio is not 4:1 in skim milk (I looked into it bc I dont like chocolate milk as much). 8 oz of skim milk have ~9g protein and ~12 g carb. I guess the key is the chocolate.

Hello folks!

Would 1 cup skim milk + packet of carnation instant breakfast be a good recovery drink? Per livestrong.com- it's 27g carb and 5g protein, so more like 5:1 ratio. I also add a tbsp of creatine powder.

if carnation by itself is 27g carb and 5g protein then I think if u add skim milk (13g carb, 8 g protein) your ratio will be closer to 3. Not perfect either but sometimes you just got to do what is close enough and tasty. I'm using ovaltine and skim milk (170 cal, 32g carb, 9g protein) and that seems to be working well.
