I've not researched them too much...but I do know that sugar alcohol and/or high fructose corn syrup are two bad things to stay away from and bars have in them. Try to find one that doesn't have either one of these two things in them.

They may be a bit difficult to find.

I may just be better to find a good protein powder that has either Whey Isolate or a combo of Whey Isolate and Casein in it to use in place of the bars.

Not sure what kind you are looking for but if you have no problem ordering online...
http://www.netrition.com has awesome prices on most.

EDIT:
I have seen people make no bake cookies with protein powder instead of coco. I did it a couple of times but I live a busy life so its hard to try to do it.

If you do, make sure not to use whey. Whey is too fast absorbing and unless you workout right after eating it. YOu will not get the benefit. I would try casein protein instead. Its a slower but more whole (More aminos) protein.

I have made protein bars using the recipe on here and on youtube by herbertriggs.
http://www.weightloss-hq.biz/weight-loss-forum/nutrition/protein-bars-13.html

They cost me £0.65p and taste nice as well.

...i've yet to try but i'm going to make my own as at least you know what's going into them and they're definitely going to be cheaper! like migwella posted you can try that recipe on you tube but if you google it, there's plenty of recipes out there for home made protein bars! i think that the one's that are sold in the stores can have far too much sugar and calories in them and taste like crap!
