Low Fat Mayo 4 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 0
Any suggestions where to put Low Fat Mayonnaise? Is it a Condiment or Fat?

Not sure where to log it. It is not real clear looking at recipes, for Tuna Salad it looks like it is logged as 1 Fat. Chick. Salad not logged at all. The most I use is a 1 or TBSP. 1 One = Fat 1g. Carb 2g. 15 calories.

The Portion Approach gives you 120 cal. for FATS and 50 cal. for CONDIMENTS, for each serving.

Thanks for your help.

I've been logging it as a condiment, I use 2 TBSp of low fat mayo on sandwiches and I don't think it has enough fat or calorie content to count as a Fat portion.

Instead of using mayo I use hummus, my favorite is spicy jalapeno and red pepper. I dont miss the mayo at all, and even though I really dont like hummus alone, I really enjoy it in sandwiches and wraps!

I agree. I learned about Hummus from the South Beach diet. They have a simple cheap recipe in their book. I am sure you can Google it. If not I'll look it up & post.

I was amazed how easy it was to make vs. store bought which can be a little pricey for what you get. Great snack food with veggies.

You can jazz it up any way you like. Extra garlic etc.

The "Tahini" (Hulled Sesame Seeds) made into a paste, can be alittle tough to find. I use Mid East, that I pick up at a local deli. It is in a jar like Mayo.
